Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was raised in a good Christian family, so I became a believer in elementary school, but then did not actually dive deep into my faith until my shift from high school to college. Those couple years were the hardest for me and so I started to lean on God, explore my beliefs and grow in my identity in Christ. I had the opportunity to go on 3 back to back misson trips within a year to Haiti, El Salvador and Uganda and each really allowed me to grow and fall in love with God and want to serve.
Uganda- I spent a month in a village in Uganda. I was able to just stop and serve. I saw miracles and met many beatutiful people who I fell in love with and inspired me. I realized while I was there (and I continue to be affirmed ever since I have gotten back) that my calling is to help people in other countries who do not have the means of help.
Grateful Hearts- I volunteered for a soup kitchen connected to my church for most of my high school years and grew close to the employees and regulars of the kitchen. They were a very big support system for me and I gained a lot of expereiences from it.
Moved to New Jersey- I’m originally from California and I came to NJ for school, even though the process was hard, shifting on my own over here was one of the best experiences I’ve had becuase I grew SO much.
Broken family- I come from an extreemly broken family, that caused me to really not feel safe ever and my parents would do unbelievable things. I really felt alone, yet had to live up to extreemly high standards, but was never good enough. I really relied on the people outside of my family to help me and they did. Now that I am older and things are different, I always jump at the opportunity to help be the external support someone needs.
Depression and anxiety- because of my family problems, my shift to a new state, and just the fact that I am still growing up, I really became extreemly depressed and anxious a couple years ago. I lost all of my support systems, even the new ones I had made in the move, and I was in a cycle of not seeing the point to life. This took place over several years to the point where I was going to commit suicide, but by the grace of God, I was able to get away and get better. I was able to refind myself and a fire lit inside of me that is still going and I have never been so committed or so strongly persuing God ever since. Since then, I have become certified in Mental Health First Aid and am able to help others who are having problems with mental illnesses. I am also able to relate to being broken and that is helpful to hear sometimes.
