Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in a Lutheran home, attended Christian college. Commitment to the Lord varied in time as we moved from time to time, now in retirement are getting back to regular time with the Lord.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I served as an Elder and a Deacon concurrently many years ago at Good Shepard Presbyterian Church in Valparaiso Indiana. The church was short on Elders and asked me to fill in over a period of three years.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

A Pastor in Valparaiso helped me recover from the death of my older sister. I was very much lost for a number of years and he helped me work through the anger and pain I endured in the years following her death.

Later on a different Pastor in the same area welcomed my wife and me and showed us how a thriving church presence could serve God’s purposes and use us to share the gospel

My father became a Lutheran minister later in life and my mother lived a life of love and service to others.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

As I said above, my older sister passed away in an automobile accident when I was 20 years old, I spent several years grieving her loss and being angry with God for calling her home. I learned alot about loss and pain in those years.

There were times when I needed counseling to overcome problem drinking. I also had friends who did as well, so I understand the compassion of those who do as well.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Starting over again in learning the Bible after too many years of letting my knowledge lapse.

4. Teaming with other Christians to serve the needy and the troubled in our community

5. Seeking and finding opportunities to bring others to Christ
