S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Dustin Neathery for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Throughout my life, I have always had an obsession-like tendency to learn and practice my interests deeply. Around the time I turned 18, that curiosity bloomed into a more wide-spread, insatiable fascination with understanding “truth” in general. That translated into studying “religion”, atheism, Christianity, God, other religions, psychology, personal development, and more.

Beyond the insatiable desire for knowledge and understanding, I thoroughly enjoy the process of simplifying complex ideas into language that could be easily understood by anyone.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (81%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Not sure exactly. My mom is very encouraging, so that may play a part. But I think one main aspect is that I’ve experienced some pretty harsh rejection and criticism throughout my life – and I know how painful such suffering can be – and I don’t want others to experience that suffering . So, I think I can relate to the pain, and I want to alleviate it for them.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Maybe it’s a mix of knowing how messed up I am and have been – and also, I think I understand pretty well that people are complex, in terms of why they do the dysfunctional things they do – so if you know that people make their mistakes and cause hurt from a place of brokenness, compassion is a pretty natural response, I think.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Holding space for the hurting – asking them questions – listening with a genuine intent to understand.

2. Creating things – art, designs, websites, videos, articles

3. Seeking the Lord – praying, worship, reading the Word – experiencing his presence

This is a fourth thing – having good conversations with other believers

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I know I have a heart for insecure, broken young men – age like 14-18 – I’ve never really worked with them, but it would be cool to help them in some way. Otherwise, I don’t have a particular preference in terms of who I like to work with. Although, when I was a trainer, I did enjoy training other believers and people who were older as they were more present and the conversations seemed to be a bit more rich

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

The depressed, anxious, hopeless – potentially those who struggle with drugs and alcohol

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Raised Christian, lost faith in teen years due hypocritical parents. Wrestled with my faith through late teens and twenties. Developed an intellectual faith – I knew God and the Bible were real, but no deep heart change. Born again in March of 2022 – heart change – the Word came alive – started experiencing the presence of God and more.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I’ve never served in church.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting Jennifer and being born again.

Meeting Alecia and Earl, who sponsored me to Quest, and as a result, meeting and developing friendships with Max and Christian.

Being called / obeying the call to get involved in CR / working the process.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being rejected and belittled throughout middle and high school.

Having experienced immense pain and suffering as a result of abusing drugs, alcohol, and a promiscuous lifestyle.

The pain and perplexity that comes from experiencing an unhealthy, broken marriage and divorce.

4 – The overall experience of enduring massive a storm as a believer – one day I think I’ll be able to relate and encourage others who are experiencing something similar.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Build a creative sanctuary for disadvantage youth – where they can paint, draw, and make music – with an art style centered around abstract and “graffiti” / street art. I want to have train cars in the back that they can paint on.

4. Build a brand around recording, producing, and publishing high-quality, film like videos of people’s testimonies.

5. If I can get to a place where I’m solid, I’d like to boldly share my story with people.
