S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Clair Wene for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I’m more of a one-on-one kind of person, or small group. I enjoy the intimacy of a small group, getting to know people and letting myself be known.

2. I’m a listener. People will often share stuff with me, and I do my best to listen well.

3. I have a heart for children, born and pre-born. I was starting to get involved with a local pregnancy center before we moved to Orange, but then we moved. I also taught preschoolers for several years at our church, and I taught Good News Club at the elementary school nearby.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I grew up in church and knew all the facts about Jesus and the gospel, but it wasn’t until I was married and learned I was pregnant that I realized that God had His eye on ME and had a plan for me that was different from the one I was considering. It was then that I understood that He wanted to be Lord of my life, and I surrendered to that.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

MOPS International at College Heights Christian Church, Joplin, MO. Taught 3 year olds for almost one year.
At same church, taught 1 year olds on Wednesday nights, also helped with VBS
BSF International, University Baptist Church, Houston, TX – taught 2 year olds for one year, 3 year olds for 2 years (?)
Bay Area Church, League City, TX – taught 3 year old class for a number of years, 2nd grade one year, helped with VBS in a teaching or teachers asst. role for a number of years.
Good News Club, Ferguson Elementary School, League City, TX. Taught 4th & 5th graders for 2 years.

Currently volunteering at Orange Christian Services as an interviewer since June, 2018.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being married

Having 4 children, including a set of twins

BSF has made a big impact on my life because it has taken me deep into God’s word

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My dad went through a deep depression and paranoia which began when he was about 85. It was so hard to watch him go through that, but it has also helped me to minister to others who are going through it or one of their loved ones is going through it.

Two of my kids have ADHD, and one of those two also has learning difficulties. This experience has helped me in the classroom especially, to be more understanding.

My husband had very invasive surgery over 20 years ago. We had one child and one on the way. I learned how much I needed the support of my family and church family during that time, and it has made me much more sensitive to what the families of those who are seriously ill are going through.
