[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love walking the beach of Lake Michigan and pray. It’s a precious time alone with God. I believe in the power of prayer!

2. I love doing Women’s bible study. I love Beth Moore and Priscilla Shirer.

3. I love Christian Music …It moves me, speaks to me, encourages me and sometimes it motivates me.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Cathy Ogren at Fellowship Church hosted a class in which my husband John and I were in for two years ..it was a support class in which we learned and grew. Hurting people need to know they aren’t alone.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I do enjoy outreach opportunities. I’ve done a few Food trucks. My brother was in prison so I’m open to a ministry there. I did a One Day with God through Fellowship Church.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I became a Christian in my teen years going to church with my Grandma. Later in high school when I met John my future husband he helped me to grow in my faith and relationship with God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Church of God United 1630 Harvey Street Muskegon Mi 49442
I organized, set up and prepared Funeral Luncheons
and Potluck Dinners, any food related functions 8 years

Church of God United 1630 Harvey Street Muskegon, MI 49442
I sent out cards for encouragement, to visitors, shut ins, hospital or get well. Any occasion to show some love as the spirit lead. 8 years

Church of God United 1630 Harvey Street Muskegon, MI 49442 Organized and set up for a Feeding America Food Truck and worked it. 2years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Women’s bible study which I’ve done during the summer while camping and then again in the Spring and Fall. I love to dig deep and learn and grow through scriptures and other women.

Mentors are also important. We’ve had some great friends who have mentored us!

I loved all my experiences with serving others. Outreach opportunities, funeral lunches, card ministry.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Cathy Ogren’s class at Fellowship church was and is about being in a hurting state, at the end of your rope but oh so helpful. In a crisis you need a class and support like this.

I worked in a family business with my dad and brother. After finally deciding to leave the business it caused and created hurt. It was real ugly and my family didn’t talk to me or my husband for 5 years. I felt a peace like never before. I had to do what was right for my marriage, children and myself.

My husband and I have been moved around by God to a few churches. We have made great friends, seen much heartache, experienced heartache and have grown so much in our faith and personal relationship with God. We give God the Glory in all situations!
