S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have experienced profound loss, despair, and addiction, so I have wisdom and compassion for those in need of encouragement. God brought (brings) me out of my suffering so I can walk alongside those with temperaments and stories similar to mine.

#2 Gift, Teaching (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Learning about Holy Tradition, particularly in the scriptures, has shaped my spiritual life and helped me love better. I love sharing this gift with friends and strangers. I also feel closest to God when I am prayerfully immersed in His mysteries.

#3 Gift, Evangelism (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My tendency to counsel broken-hearted, depressed, and suicidal friends is almost always a form of evangelism. I never claim that becoming Christian will undoubtedly cure people of their problems, but I do say that Christ and His Church offer hope and healing in the present—both of which will be fulfilled when Christ returns. More importantly, I worry about the fate of friends and strangers. Whatever Hell is, I don’t wish it upon the nastiest of trolls. Most importantly, the delight of Union with our Father can’t be overstated.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Read (fiction, theology, philosophy, history, science) in my apartment with the windows open and a mug of coffee beside me.

2. Ministering to suffering, seeking folks (especially those with mental disorders, addictions, suicidal tendencies, and non-Christian worldviews).

3. Contending for better living conditions on behalf of marginalized Nepalis, especially through efforts to make Nepal’s education system more just.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Either children or adults who have mental disorders, addictions, suicidal tendencies, or atheistic worldviews

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Disunity greatly concerns me. I hope to contribute to efforts to reconcile branches/denominations of the Church.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
