Thank you Amanda Hoback for taking the SHAPE Assessment. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Being Madalynn’s mom!

2. Helping others get out of a difficult situation that they see no end to. I’ll sit with you for a moment, but we gotta get up and get moving to continue this journey called life. I guess some call it bossy! HA

3. Changing old ways of doing things into something smarter, easier and more useful.
“Work smarter, not harder!”

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I enjoy folks that are older than I am. I love to soak up the wisdom and at times, challenge an old way of thinking.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I feel we have lost the focus of our older singles. Life is not black and white and we have many singles that are fallen in the crack and no longer feel a place for them in the church. Divorce or death of a spouse is hard and we need a place for us to come together with others who understand. Young single is one area that is targeted but older single is not. THIS is an area that should be visited. Another area is co-parenting after divorce.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

After my sister took her life on the day of my baby shower and my marriage ended, I started searching the bible to see if my sister lost her salvation due to suicide. My custody battle was brutal and I didn’t see a reason for living anymore as everything I thought life was about, marriage, kid, cars, job and house were achieved and I was left empty. Once night as I cried on my kitchen floor, I HEARD the Holy Spirit for the fist time ever! I was told to go to church Sunday and everything would change. I followed as instructed and and now, 12 years later, my life is completely different! Lots of ups and downs but GOD is SOOOO faithful to continue to mold me of my old self and more like Him.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

FCC Salem/NC Campus: Kids ministry, door greeter, life group leader, cleaning team

Elevation – Life group leader & greeter

Bible Study Fellowship – Life group leader

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Being a mom has taught me God gives us amazing and fragile things to care for and love but that HIS love is far more that mine. THAT is beautiful!

Leading life groups has allowed me to learn the skill of listening to others and hearing them. It’s taught me we do things based on our past and that gives me the opportunity to extend grace, as best I can, to folks that need extra grace. HA

Being single for 7.5 years and raising my girl has allowed me to see that God really is my provider and I can rely on him for ALL things. I have learned who I am and love myself.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My sisters suicide had me go to God’s word for truth rather than the world.

My divorce and sharing custody taught me grace, forgiveness, compassion, the ability to share and compromise.

Sharing custody has allowed me to understand the need for both parents in a child’s life and the POWER of being a positive speaker about the other parent. This is a passion of mine to help others use power to generate forward movement for self peach and the wellbeing of the child.

Wrapping It Up

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Whatever God says………………..

4. Spend money blessing others w/ acts of unexpected kindness

5. To hire a personal chef and fitness instructor and go on the road as a motivational speaker
