I have empathy towards the situation of others. I try to envision myself in their situation before I give advice. I think that we are all products of our environment, our upbringing, and the love and support or lack of that we may have had in our life.

[E]xperience
I have been a Christian all my life. However, after a serious illness, it brought me into a deeper relationship with God.
I attended an Alpha class at my church and that was a very powerful experience especially during the retreat.
Joining a Bible study group and discussing the Gospels.
The people at my church have welcomed me as part of their fellowship community. I truly feel this.
Fighting several cancers and given six months to live has given me a greater understanding and compassion for those who may have a similar circumstance.
As a Christian, I am now able to better understand my parents and their relationship with each other and with my siblings.
Having a gay relative has made me aware of the struggle of other gay youths and has help me to understand there every day battles.
