Thank you for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Everybody has something to offer, they just need to have their eyes opened to their placement/contribution/wealth(spiritual) they offer others. There is something good in everyone. There is something that they can do that others need. I believe in bringing people up. Up to their potential, utilizing the gifts they have been given, and showing that they are someone special…to God, fellow believers, and should be to themselves. I like to watch people open up and discover who they are…in Christ. I like to watch all the bad/negative words fall off of them as they see who they really are and what God has to say about them. They aren’t worthless, they have a ton of worth.

#2 Gift, Serving (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is my love language…Acts of Service. Many hands make light work. I think about what I would want/how I would feel and I try to do that for them (if I’m able). I think everyone should pitch in. It makes me feel more free to help others. I guess that is where the saying fits me…it’s better to give than to receive.

#3 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I teach…every day. It’s in me. If there’s a better way or way to simplify things, I’m wanting to show it to others. I used to teach the military and I typically coach. I like to make things easy for people to understand. I like to see people learn and actually get something out of what they are there for. I’m constantly teaching my kids. It’s harder to show and wait then it is to actually do it for them, but it’s rewarding to see them ‘get it’. I like taking something that seems difficult and putting it on their terms/level. When I coached little ones, I used Disney movies and Spider-Man to get them to understand. They weren’t dribbling balls, they were slapping them. So, I had to figure out how to get 5/6 year olds to understand tips of fingers. I asked them how Spider-Man crawled a wall and got down on the ground to show them..pads/tips of fingers…they got it after that. I’m more concerned with the message/teaching going through/being received than I am about the delivery. I tend to use a lot of visuals. My favorite part of teaching though is having others teach what I’ve taught. Then, I really know they have gotten it and that they are teaching others! The one year I coached I ended up at the end splitting the team in two and placing a leader from among themselves to coach/lead. It was absolutely beautiful. They didn’t want to do it but they were so good at it. They were encouraging and utilizing everyone where their strengths were and even changing people up. Teaching to me is training…I’m training leaders. If I’ve done my job right, at the end, someone else should be able to take my place and everything should run smoothly.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Praying. I don’t want to seem super spiritual but this is definitely the top. I love to pray for others…right there/right then. I don’t like feeling I missed it/I could do better. I like teaching about praying, I like it all. I spent most of my life not understanding prayer or how to pray, that now I want to do it all the time. I was always nervous to pray in front of others, now I want to show others how easy it is. I’ve been on this journey and now I want to help others see how easy things can be just by praying, sharing testimonies and believing. I wish someone had shown me. It brings me much joy to pray with others and them to see there is no set way.

2. I love to coach. This could come from playing sports year round, but I still love to be around sports. Coaching is the next best thing to playing.

3. I like to just relax, spend time with my family. Just chill. Watch a Disney movie/ the show scorpion. It’s kind of our family time and not a forced family time.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I like to work with those that no one wants. Sometimes that’s little ones. Sometimes that’s the elderly. Sometimes that’s the ones that people call mental. I like to be wherever there is a need.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’ve wanted to experience prison ministry. I keep feeling pulled towards it but have never been a part of one.

I was in a a scripture meditation group last year and LOVED it! We had books of the Bible with many different versions and we went through those by verse. So, Ephesians 1:1 would be 9 different versions and we would go in order and read them. It brought a whole new understanding and amazing results. I learned so much that I would love to be a part of one here.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
