S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
If I have this gift, it is because I believe that everything I have came from God and belongs to Him. I can never out-give God. Scripture speaks of the importance of a generous & cheerful giver. I don’t consider that I have ever given to the point of sacrifice, so I certainly don’t consider that I excel in the area of giving.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
What gift I have in this area is because I believe the Church exist to take the gospel to all the world. The Great Commission is a command…all who know Christ as Savior are responsible for helping others to know Him as well. The church is a place where anyone & everyone should feel accepted and comfortable and feel God’s love from those who attend.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m not good at delegating or asking someone else to serve in some capacity & wish I were better in that respect. I would rather do a job myself than to ask someone else to, not because I think I can do it better…I feel that if someone wants to serve, they would volunteer although I know what holds some back from volunteering is because they feel inadequate for the job. I believe that scripture teaches that we are saved to serve others.

1. Working outside, to the point of getting dirty. One cannot be surrounded by all the sights & sounds of nature, without knowing that there has to be someone who created it all. There is such satisfaction (not in the weeding itself) , but seeing the result of a freshly weeded bed. It is beneficial, both mentally and physically. There are spiritual lessons to learned as well. For those who garden, one can’t help but notice how weeds can grow right in the midst of a prized plant & the only way to get it out is to dig the plant up with the weed. Isn’t that the way sin is? It intrudes into a life that is beautiful and if not destroyed at the onset can destroy that life completely….like weeds that sprout thru the tiniest crack in concrete, sin can attack a spiritually strong Christian during a weak moment & establish a foothold…
2. Like every mother, grandmother & great grandmother, I love my family. I hurt when they hurt, wish I could solve all the problems and make everything all right. After many, many years, I’ve learned that I can not fix their mistakes, but just pray they learn by their mistakes. Like most mothers, I sometimes feel that if I could do it over, I would do a better job.
3. When I married and left home for the first time, an aunt told me that once we were moved and settled to connect with a church. She said a church is where you will find the sort of friends you will want to connect with. I followed her advice then and since. The worship & fellowship with other Christians is important and necessary for me.
Over the past 60 yrs, I have worked with the following ages during the bible study hour: nursery, beginners, primaries, juniors…also worked through missions with acteens….too many years of VBS to count (and loved it)…Later years, taught senior adult ladies in bible study. These ladies taught me as well and I spent more time in bible study and scripture than all the years together….I truly learned, as I attempted to lead others in bible study…at this point in my life, I would still prefer a ladies class.
I believe that a church should not try to take on more ministries than can be adequately staffed and supported. Personally, I want to hear what the scripture says about issues. I don’t want to necessarily be made to feel good. Not only do the lost need to hear the gospel, but Christians need to hear preaching that convicts as well…we are just saved sinners and need the truth of the scripture to remind us of that. What concerns me most is the brokenness of families, due to divorce, alcohol, lacking in financial responsibility. Children and young people no longer respect their parents, teachers, adults in general. I see young married couples who start out trying to have all the things they can ill afford, end up almost financially bankrupt…We live in a broken world, racked with sin and I firmly believe will worsen as we await Jesus’ return.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
