This gift does not come as a surprise because I have been an instructor and a teacher. It is something that I enjoy.

Though I don’t consider myself a prophet. I have seen God use me to give people messages and encouragement from him. I’m willing to do that.

My church in Alexandria started a ministry that came to the hospital when women were in labor. Someone would pray and encourage the woman and also pray for the baby. Being their to be a moral support. I love that.

[E]xperience

I became a Christian when I was 9. I remember having an attraction to church/God as a young child. We lived walking distance from the church. I asked my mom if I could walk to church. For a period I was the only one at our house that was going to church. I accepted Christ and stayed around the church that I grew up in until I was about 18. I sang in the choir and helped with youth tutoring.

Everything started at New Hope Baptist Church in Suffolk, VA. I grew up there and it was there that I accepted the Lord. Our church went through a split when I was about 22. I left and helped our Pastor start Gethsemane Community Fellowship Church in Norfolk, VA. I went through ministry training and became a licensed minster in March 2000.

I served as an Associate minister at Word of the Truth Ministries in Stafford, VA. I also worked as the Praise and Worship leader.
After this ministry, I sang in the choir occasionally at Strong Tower, Fredericksburg, VA, Love International, Springfield, Va and Action Chapel VA in Springfield, VA

I grew up in a baptist church, they didn’t teach about gifts of the spirit. I visited a church of a friend in college. They were singing and praying in their prayer language. I didn’t understand it but I was fascinated by it and wanted it for my own life. After a few services, the pastor asked if anyone wanted to speak in tongues who did not have the gift. He prayed for and I began to speak. The weird part about this is that a year prior, there was an utterance, but I didn’t know what it was, it was like some type of babble. This lady smacked me in the face and said that I was supposed to be speaking in tongues. I was thinking, if this is how it happens, I don’t want it. A year later, God blessed me with this incredible gift that is still impacting my life.

I used to have awful stage fright. My aunt pulled me to the side after a funeral of my cousin. She talked to me about not being afraid of the faces and how to look over the crowd. That conversation has stayed with me for over 20 years.

When I was pregnant with my first born, I had an awful day of morning sickness and someone told me about a book called Supernatural Childbirth. That book helped me through both of my pregnancies. I wasn’t and I had 2 gorgeous healthy little boys.

In 2000, I was licensed as a Baptist minister. This was great but I felt like David trying to wear Saul’s armor. I was being trained to wear the collar, hoop and learn the “dramatics” on preaching. It did not feel natural to me and I soon walked away from it.

Around 2002, I supported a friend who was a new pastor of a church. I should have known something was wrong when there was mostly women and not that many men. That ministry ended up draining me. There was competition for my friend’s attention. They assumed that everyone wanted him. Some of the women did and it made ministering there very difficult.

In 2015, I was sitting in the congregation while there was a prophet at the church. I thought that he was talking to someone else, but he was talking to me. He said that someone said that I was supposed to die on December 19, but that God said it was not going to happen. When the service was over, I went to my Pastor’s office and asked him, What was that? He tried to get the prophet to elaborate, but the guy kind of brushed me off and made me feel as if I was bothering him by trying to understand.
