S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Ashley East for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Giving (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It comes very naturally. I enjoy giving to people who may be lacking whether that be money, or encouragement. I’m the person who finds it hard to pass by someone asking for food or money.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one is actually kind of surprising. I find it much easier to talk to people I have a rapport with about Christ. However, I haven’t walked up to strangers to talk about Christ.

#3 Gift, Serving (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I enjoy serving people. I’m a nurse, and this is also something I don’t have to necessarily work at. I like to help people. I like to be able to know I was able to help someone in their time of need.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I really want people to live in the FULLNESS of God. I don’t think it’s good enough to just live an unfulfilling life. I want people to receive God’s Plan A for their lives. I try to encourage those around me in that way.

2. I love interior design. My goal is to have my own design/renovation business.

3. I also love to travel. There is something special about experiencing other cultures first hand. I like to immerse myself into the fabric of other societies. It helps you to see the world in a different way.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

This is a tough one. I think I prefer to work with women around my age group. Likely ages 21-39

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Churches can become cliquish. That can scare some people away from being involved. Plus a lot of time people put on their “church-mask.” I would like to see an overall spirit of transparency and humbleness. First aid or Women’s ministry seem to be good picks for me.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I group in church and was baptized as a child. Although I believe God was with me all the time I didn’t truly know Him. I started pursuing God after I left college and a dysfunctional relationship. That was 10 years ago. There have been ups and downs but I can see how God has been moving in my life. It has been pruning me and each year I’m able to see growth.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I served in church briefly in 2007 in childcare. This was in Dayton Ohio at Revival Center Ministries.

With Zion I’ve never served in a ministry. I attended from 2014-2016 and moved to LA. I’m just returning. I did go on 3 mission trips and served once for Resurrection Sunday and once for the cookout.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My relationship with my grandmother. She has had the largest impact on my life. She taught me some basic financial stewardship, discipline, and showed me love.

My relationship with my college roommate. She has helped me to see what Godly friendship looks like. She has been the most supportive and non-judgmental friend I’ve ever had.

Learning the power of forgiveness. I took a class at church that was geared towards healing emotional wounds. It helped me to forgive those who have hurt me in the past. It also, helps me to give people more grace.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Growing up my mother struggled with substance abuse. Thank God she has been sober for several years now. That experience made me stronger, mature, and driven to be better.

My father was the kind of dad who was around but not truly present in the lives of his children. I had a lot of resentment towards him and didn’t feel loved. It taught me a lot about how generational curses affect families and how to choose better. Thankfully I’m able to meet him where he is and understand that he was pouring from an empty vessel.

My last relationship. Although it was somewhat dysfunctional it showed me what I did and didn’t want in a relationship. It was also the catalyst that drove me to pursue Christ.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Creating beautiful homes for people. That would include showing them how home ownership can lead to wealth building.

4. Go to different parts of the world at least twice a year to do missionary work.

5. Traveling the world for leisure. Visiting at least 50 countries in my lifetime.
