Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
Knew of His call when I was 14. At 23 made the commitment after a year of searching through New Testament for what was missing in my life.
Highland Street Church or Christ, Memphis, TN – Involved in College and Young Marrieds groups. Involved in helps ministries for young marrieds events, College retreats and taught class to college women on how to stay pure until marriage.
Decatur Church of Christ, Decatur GA assisted with elementary teaching. I had limited availability to serve with busy teenagers and was enrolled in college courses.
Southwoods Christian Church, Overland Park, KS – Developed new member course and implemented a curriculum in partnership with two others for a seeker church with members who had no background in the Christian faith. Served as a deacon over the adult ministry program.
At 23 I had a dream in which I saw the heavens open and Jesus descend. He reached out to pull me up to him. I woke sitting up in bed with my heart exploding in side my chest. I was the most profound spiritual experience of my life. It has remained with me for the last 47 years.
After 4 years of struggling with a painful/debilitating health condition, I found a church and a group of people who believed in God’s healing power. During that time I had a waking dream in which I was on a seashore in the far east where a woman shoved an oar in my hands giving me an order in a language I did not understand. I found Jesus on the shore and then I was on the shore and he was in a boat about 500 yards from shore. He smiled and asked me to come to him. After some argument that I needed the boat, he smile again and told me to walk on the water. When I finally reached the boat he took the oar, but now it was dark stained and highly polished, “I suppose you’d like to know what this is for.” Yes, I answered. He asked if I would like him to teach me, “Of course, yes, please.” He then gave me instruction that led to taking courses in a Bible college.
During the same period as the seashore incident, I had God literally download a story to me over 3 years about a woman’s struggle to find intimacy with God. I just finished final edits and of those who have read it they have been moved and encouraged. I normally write in the business/professional fields, so novel writing is not my forte. This book was clearly from the Lord. I hope to have it published by summer.
My spouse is a Vietnam veteran and has carried terrible guilt for some of his experiences which have kept him from his true place and role in a life with Christ and as our spiritual head of the family. That has colored our nearly 50 years of marriage and his relationship with his children. When I found out that he accidentally killed 3 of his own men, I knew God had allowed me to have compassion for his guilt and pain.
One of my husband’s frustrations with his war experience is a distrust of the government. His maverick personality has led to some irresponsible behavior in not filing taxes. 10 years ago, that led to an audit that put us in debt to the IRS that we are still paying off. It’s been like being enslaved to the government and has prevented me from retiring until 2020. BUT, one blessing was that when I surrendered to the Lord my fears about the situation, I awoke in the middle of the night to hear God singing over me, audibly, “How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,” It was a hymn I had not thought of fore 35 years. That gave me courage to tell my husband I forgive him. I had to release him and myself and believe God for deliverance of the debt.
Due to physicians over medicating me for chronic sinusitis, I developed a painful debilitating condition, Immune and Adrenal Insufficiency. I could barely stand, walk or think, yet because of the recession/depression my husband was out of work and had to give his unemployment to the IRS, so I had to work for income and insurance, which meant traveling across the country and teaching physicians how to become patient centered. I would teach and consult all day and collapse in my hotel room in nearly screaming pain. The worst of it lasted 3.5 years. It was the care of a compassionate and knowledgeable chiropractor and his colleague that helped me on the road to recovery, which included a significant change in food (no gluten) and taking many supplements to heal my gut. The prayers of the healing ministry at church gave me the hope that I would recover. I felt this was a satanic attack due to it’s intensity and how it debilitated my life. But it was the beginning of a deepening relationship with the Lord that would not change for anything. And I’ve found an amazing gift in prayer for healing for others that often surprises me.
