S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Allie for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
One of the things I love most when it comes to my beliefs is talking about them. I’m not so sure that I am great at talking to large amounts of people but telling small groups about my experiences and my knowledge – those discussions – are amazing for me. I absolutely love talking about God’s word, his plan, current times, and how we are to live our lives.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My friends always told me I should be a preacher after I talked in our small groups because I loved teaching others what I have learned. Given I have more experience in certain areas than them, it is encouraging for all of us to have discussions like that. It makes sense to me that this would be one of my gifts.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think that to be a follower of Christ you have to live it to the full. Not to be a “fake-Christian”, or to warp the Bible and its teachings to what we want to hear. So I understand that this might be one of my gifts because I love telling people this, because in our modern culture – and I am subject to this as well – sometimes we fall short of what potential I believe God has put within us to project his image.

1. Spending time with friends and family. As much as the introvert that I am, I need to get out of my head every now and then. Being intellectual allows you to think deeper, but also can make you feel like you are drowning in the abyss of your own thoughts. I can take myself to dark places in an instant when I’m thinking poorly (another reason why it is so important to me that everything I do is given to God). Because of this, spending time with those who are close to me makes me feel secure and allows me to loosen up. Have fun, and take a break. God wants us to be aware of the world, but I don’t have to swim in the murky waters all the time. God isn’t a god of darkness, but a God of light.
2. Running/getting outside. Something I probably don’t do enough is this. I sit around all day inside, and never see the sun or the fresh air. All of which is very good for me. I also occasionally get the itch to run, as I love to do that as well. Exercising in that manner makes me feel accomplished and healthy. Quarantine is a big reason that I didn’t get outside as much this past year and is something that I still struggle with.
3. Writing to God. When I pray, it isn’t that I don’t think God is listening, but I struggle to feel the connection. Something that really helps me is writing. Writing my prayers and thoughts. My brain moves light years quicker than my hand, so it is a beautiful way to reflect as well. I usually like to write prayers for others as well, which makes me feel like I really am playing a part in God’s big plan. I don’t do this often, but I really should. It is incredibly rejuvenating, and is healthy for the spirit.
I love to help out with the younger kids because it is beautiful to see the wonder in their eyes. I remember feeling that way about God. Where he was just my Father in Heaven and I didn’t question it. Also, reading the Bible to them feels amazing. I love doing that. But if I’m honest, I like talking with people my age, and people who are close to me. I struggle to talk to others – in a spiritual setting or not, it is difficult for me. However, my stories resonate with them more, and vice versa.
The mixing of culture and the church. Especially because many Christians have different beliefs. It is hard to talk about because somebody is going to disagree with you, yet you are both still Christians following Christ. Somebody is doing something wrong because we are arguing. Perhaps it isn’t regarding the subject we are fighting about that is the problem, but I know when we turn on each other, it is not for God.

[A]bilities
I do not have a job. I am just the oldest child in our family and a freshman in high school.
Again, do not have any “job” experience, although I could argue that I still do have some knowledge, just not in a certain profession currently.
I think that I am pretty intellectual, and accordingly can get really narcissistic, which is not good quality. I am constantly wondering and thinking, which can be very helpful, and thoughtful. I also enjoy space and God’s creation, coding, and plenty of videogames. I’m not positive about what my calling is right now. I’m just a fairly normal girl, exempt from the fact I have a bit more life experience than others my age, and would like to say am a bit more mature.
I have never taught a real class. I’ve had many discussions, but no real classes.
My ability to think more deeply about certain values. I have felt on occasion – I hope – God using me through my words, which is why I am very confident that this is one strong asset in me.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. [E]xperience
My family is Christian, and I grew up going to church. However, I guess I wanted it to be my own, and was afraid of not being a true follower, so as a little kid I decided that I wanted Jesus in my heart so that I could be saved, happy, and loved by Jesus. It wasn’t fearful as in I thought God would strike me down with a thunderbolt, but more that I was worried who I would be without him.
Calvary Church – I don’t remember it much, but when I was young this is where we went. It is my Grandma and Grandpa’s church, and my parents went there for a while before we found one closer to where we lived.
Journey Church – This church is smaller but closer to where we live. I love it here, and I serve with the kids and watch them during service while we teach them in a fun manner.
I haven’t gone anywhere else. I haven’t lived in very many places and gone to any other churches within my memory.
My dad coming home from Iraq. It wasn’t positive to see him go, but when he came back it was amazing. I was so happy and excited, and throughout the time he was gone, I learned so many things about being on my own and learning things for myself.
NTS (Never The Same) Camp. This was a business week-long, deeply moving camp in Indiana that literally left me never-the-same, especially because right before I left my life was really shaken up in my personal life.
Winning a website design competition. I was really excited about participating in it, and some of the prize money would greatly contribute to my savings to buy a PC, and I am very excited to pursue more things regarding technology.
Spiritual Warfare in our own household. I felt it when I was younger, but I didn’t understand it. After learning about it, I felt stronger and changed. God was with me through it all, and he kept me safe.
My dad leaving again for Iraq. We had just moved to a new house, and a new school, and suddenly my dad was leaving. It wrecked me, as I was turning into a teenager and struggling with my emotions already.
Secondhand abuse in our family, from things we didn’t know, was there, as it never came out before-hand. All of this really messed me up – without getting specific – and I am still hurt and feel betrayed by it.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Telling others bravely about what I believe in larger settings.
4. Be a light for people and a beacon of hope for the hopeless, to lead people towards God. To not be afraid of the backlash.
5. To not let fear control me. My thoughts can be my downfall. To trust God with everything within me, not with just my Sunday mornings.
