Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My dad taught me about God’s love and truly modeled this in my life. When my parents divorced when I was 4 years old, I saw my dad’s faith and understood that God was constant and wouldn’t abandon me, like my dad showed. I grew up in a Christian school, going to church, and made my own decision at church camp in 3rd grade. My faith has grown throughout the stages of my life and my intimacy with God continues to change.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Trinity Reformed Church (Munster, IN)- (in middle school/high school)- VBS teacher, GEMS girls counselor, church choir, leader at youth group

Camp Manitoqua (Frankfort, IL)- (college/4 yr)- Camp Counselor
Santiago Christian School (Dominican Republic) – (5 yr) chaplain

Lenawee Christian School (Adrian, MI)- (5 yr)- chaplain
1Mosaic- (4 yr)- Mosaic Kids teacher, worship team, Bride leader

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Camp- This is the same camp where I made a commitment to God as a 3rd grader. In college, being a camp counselor gave me opportunities to work with people who really loved sharing Jesus with kids. Being a Christian is fun! I was also supported in my roles there- being encouraged to be a Day Camp Coordinator in a leadership position.

In college, at a church revival, the pastor shared a message with an object lesson on bitterness. I had been full of bitterness toward my birth mom and through this sermon I received freedom.

Dominican Republic- This was a huge time of growth for me. I met another group of people who LOVED to share Jesus with others and were very mission-oriented. Learning to live in another culture pushed me closer to God. I saw others’ spiritual discipline of getting up in the morning to spend time with God and have in-depth Bible study. I had so many conversations about faith.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Divorce- My parents’ divorce at age 4 has helped me have empathy for my students who face this in their family.

Death- My friend, Megan, died in a car accident in the DR in 2013. This was a tragic time, but I witnessed her parents worshipping God through it. Our friends drew close and supported each other. I saw God’s goodness in a time of sorrow.

Loss- In the DR, there was always a big turn-over rate. One year, two of my very close friends left at the same time. That following year, I recognized how much I was finding my identity in these friends instead of God.
