S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Amy Allen for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #3 Gift, Evangelism (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been passionate about telling people about Christ and sharing what he’s done in my life. Being a survivor from abuse, domestic violence and in recovery from drugs and alcohol,I am passionate about reaching others many are hesitant to.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Spending time with my family. Doesn’t matter what we’re doing,as long as we’re together.

2. Being outdoors. In Michigan that’s challenging in the winter, but I greatly enjoy camping, hunting, fishing etc. I feel closer to God when I’m in nature.

3. Listening to music. I often times will put on a worship music Playlist and just rest in comfort of the truths being spoken through the music. I also feel closer to God and feel this is a way to worship Him and connect with Him.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

People in recovery, people who are survivors from any form of abuse, people who struggle with mental illness, younger children or wherever God leads me I’m open to.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

What excites me the most is when we talk about getting our hands dirty and going beyond the walls of the church to reach people. Especially those who people and society have ignored.

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I became a Christian back in high school in 2002 but fell away in college and struggled with mental illness, drugs /alcohol,and eventually homosexuality challenges. However, I knew the life I was living wasn’t God honoring so three years ago I began my recovery journey and my relationship with God has never been stronger.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I’ve occasionally helped out in churches but not in official capacities. Sometimes just on a fill in basis for Sunday school or nursery.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Mission trips to Kenya 2006 and China 2007

Completing college in 2012 and getting my EMT certification

My mum marrying my current stepfather, 11 years ago.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Surviving childhood physical and sexual abuse

Losing a friend to suicide in 2004

Going through a divorce in 2019
