S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Amber Nance for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I like to break things down and figure out I can relate information to a person individually, tailored to them. That way the information is relevant and personal, somethimg to be grasped rather than an abstract concept that can’t be obtained.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel like how we view the creation (people) is a direct reflection of how we view the creator (God). Just as a child’s artwork is infinitely more dear and beautiful, because of the love we have for the child who made it. That is how we should respond to others, letting them know they are dear and beautiful, beause we love the God that made them and see Him in them. Even when they cannot see Him in themselves.

#3 Gift, Giving (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I feel like giving is at the heart of God. “For God so loved the world that He gave…” To be more like God, is to give. It’s also at the source of trust. I give because I trust I will have more to give. “Do not be wise in your own eyes fear the Lord and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh and strength to your bones. Honor the Lord with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase. So your barns will be filled with plenty and your vats will overflow with new wine.” Proverbs 3:7-10

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I like working with children. They are inspiring and educating.

2. I like encouraging other people to workout. I feel it is a healthy decision that trickles into so many areas of life in a positive way.

3. I love to share truth with people, either my understanding of it with those wiser than me, so I can learn. Or with those who feel without value, to build them up.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love working with people around my age, as well as pe ople older, or children. It depends on the goal or task at hand.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Small groups, bringing food to people in a life event. (Death, birth, move) I connecting with people on a personal level and if possible giving to them in practical ways. Ie: Time, food, or physically helping them move.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I don’t remember when exactly I was saved. I have just always felt God was there even from a young age, I remember telling Jesus things and talking to the Holy Spirit. When I was really young we were not allowed to go to church and even then I felt like I knew God.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

In college I was involved in prision ministry. I don’t remember the dates but we visited a mens prision in Spartanburg SC on Monday nights.

Also involved in a signing group that traveled to churches and preformed/worked with youth groups. “Joyful Hands”

When I was a teenager and we first moved to Shallotte NC I did some Music ministry (singing) and taught the three year old class, and worked in nursery, at Harvest Fellowship. I also don’t remember dates.

I worked food services at Lifeway Christian Conference center in Ridgecrest NC for two summers. (2007/2008)Alongside those in an addiction recovery program.

Worked as an intern summer 2009 at Parkwood Baptist Church, in Concord NC. Working with Deaf adults/ and deaf youth group.

From 2011-2016 I served in Childrens ministry at New Life Community (church) in Danville VA (0-walking class and 3-5 class)

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marrying my husband. He is a constant reminder that God makes all things new and we are given what we could not possibly deserve. He responds to me in such healthy/compassionate ways. I have learned a lot about the love of God through our relationship.

The birth(s) of my three younger siblings. They are 9, 12, and 14 years younger than me and I think growing up with little kids or at least younger kids around, is where my respect for them first originated.

Moving so much growing up and having to adapt, I think has helped me become more flexible and understanding as a person.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Super abusive biological dad who passed away when I was in college. So much fear, and unresolved identity issues was planted in that.

Being the kid of a single mom, leaves you always feeling like a burden, or someone’s charity case, or just that you’re “too much” in whatever situation may present itself.

Moving so much (one year had 5 different addresses) while making me adaptable also has left a feeling of not belonging or having nowere to be grounded/stable/safe.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would stay home with my son and lead a workout group/be a free personal trainer. And as a stay at home mom, I would become a foster parent or just adopt several kids from foster care. of women.

4. I would go back to school and be a counselor. Who could also have Deaf clients.

5. I would become a teacher in some ministry capacity. Maybe a kindergarten teacher at a christian school.
