S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Mandy Perez for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Evangelism (96%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God saved me from a really deep, dark pit and I want to help others who are currently in pits.

#2 Gift, Teaching (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I guess this comes naturally as being the eldest of eight kids and working at a preschool.

#3 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (75%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Words are my thing, and they have been since I was little. I’m currently in a growth process with learning how to use words when they’re needed, recognizing there is a time and a place to use them so I’m praying for discernment. I also pray God helps me listen more.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love worshipping God with others. There is nothing more beautiful that singing with my family and imagining how beautiful it will be worshipping God face-to-face!

2. I love spending time with my Bridegroom in the quiet where it’s just me and Him.

3. I love sharing Jesus with my family. Especially sharing it with Katie and watching how she shares it with her friends just warms my heart.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

God has put a lot of Katie’s friends into my life and helped me share words that minister yo their hearts.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

It has been a struggle getting to the point where I’m able to truly enjoy leading worship at church without pride since I continually give it to God. He’s helped me reach a new level of worshipping Him in Spirit and truth I am really loving and am so thankful for.

[A]bilities

My current vocation:

Medical billet at home. I love when God puts people on my line who share in a little Jesus talk. My boss listens to my calls….she’s not a believer so I feel it’s a way I can witness to her without even actually talking to her.

Other jobs I have experience in:

Mostly office. I did work at this one headstone place where I was able to offer words of comfort to grieving people.

Special talents/skills that I have:

Words. I’m wordy and finally accepting it’s not a bad thing. It’s a gift God is gently stretching and molding until it fits His purpose. It’s a bit uncomfortable sometimes especially when people say I’m preachy or long-winded!

I have taught a class or seminar on:

Nada. I share stuff God asks me to on Facebook? I subbed at English classes once or twice and have been a Sunday school teacher tho…long time ago.

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

Personal asset? Like something physical? My house. I also love my Bible. Jesus is my main treasure and second to Hom, my family.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I had nightmares when I was little, and when I was six my dad told me that if I asked Jesus to live in my heart, the nightmares would stop. I did, and they stopped. I fell in love with Jesus but drifted in and out of close fellowship with Him as I was really good at scheduling Him out of my life. Until Tres Dias. He blazed intoy dark, broken heart, ripped off my chains and set me on a firm Foundation…Himself. my life will never be the same!

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Sunday school teacher. St Michael’s 2003-2006?

Vacation Bible school 30+ years Delta

Worship team Harvest Olathe
Choir Our Lady of Fátima Olathe

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Tres Dias and other church retreats

Celebrity Recovery

Becoming a wife and a mom

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Losing my mom to suicide helped me treasure life and my family more. God has helped me use it for His glory and connect with others who have lost a loved one, especially to suicide.

Suffering from infertility helps me connect with other women struggling with infertility and sharing how God helped me learn to trust His plans are better than mine.

Suffering in my darkness almost broke my marriage and I wasn’t the wife or mother I needed to be. Now I can use my being lost as a testimony to others who are going through their own valley of darkness.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Go on a missionary trip to some country that I can communicate with in Spanish.

4. Travel and see the world, sharing Jesus with everyone I meet.

5. Be financially stable so I can help others financially and then share Jesus with them.
