S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Janet Moore for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I fully believe God’s Word is Truth for every generation and that it leads to eternal life through the revelation and character of the Father, Son and Spirit. It draws us into the responsibilities and mercies every follower should have.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I find it a joy to teach and encourage others to deeper learner and greater faith. I want them to thirst for biblical learning so they are able to stand strong against Satan’s army. Most of all, that they come to know they are a child of God, loved beyond measure, a member His kingdom on earth, and a vessel of the Holy Spirit, under the authority of The King, High Priest.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
To me, serving is an act of worship that automatically draws me into His presence much like when I worship Him in song. For all He has done for me, for all His mercy and forgiveness, my hearts desire is to serve Him. The Holy Spirit empowers and I pray all that He has me do is done in such a way to bring glory to God. He know my heart.
[H]eart
1. Be with my kids and grandkids whether in prayer, in person, and via phone.
2. Being with and working alongside the fellowship of believers.
3. Being out in God’s creation , or crafting and creating. God’s is always invited along to bring ideas and correct things that I struggle over, or give me His eyes to see His beauty.
I love people, so this is difficult to answer. I do tend to work best with adults, but I love to mentor and bring others along to step in positions and circumstances. I love working with the team players of all activities I am involved in and Pastor Deborah always. I find the prideful or those who take ownership challenging to build relationship with.
My passion always has been for the brokenhearted and unchurched, those who are weak in faith or do not know the Savior. I no what a difference He has made in my life. I want other to experience that joy and hope no matter what the world throws at them.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
[E]xperience
I was baptized at 13, called during a youth rally when I was youth leader, but really never deepened my faith until late in 40s where became devoted to Christ as my Savior and understood the Holy Spirit lives in me. Ever since, my faith walk deepens everyday.
Assistant to the Pastor in charge of outreach at St. Paul’s UMC in Chesapeake, as well as facilitating Bible study and seminars, and preaching when asked.
Stephen Ministry Leader (I have used that training in a variety of ways such as visits to shut-ins. The training has helped me listen, love, and work with even the ‘unloveable’.
Working with those with disabilities.
Spiritual mentors who accepted me as I was and helped me move beyond myself.
(Too many to mention)
Bible studies that led me deeper in thirsting for Christ my Savior.
Family heritage and biblical patriarchs that taught me that we all mess up and God redeems and throws sin in the sea of forgetfulness. Ordinary people like me can make a difference as I partner with Christ.
An uncaring Special Ed teacher I was assigned to work with as a teacher assistant.
My own sin and God’s forgiving and amazing grace.
Divorce and the side affects it brings.
Wrapping It Up
The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?
1. My Relationship with GOD
2. My Relationship with Others
- Putting Your Spouse First
- Your Kids Second
- Everyone Else After those
3. Building an Open Door Framework that reached out from St. Mark’s into the City of Hamptonn.
4. At 74, there really is no personal God sized dreams other than doing His will and keeping my family safe and redeemmed.
5. That I would be a bold disciple of Jesus Christ in every situation. There is urgency in my soul.
