S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Aubrey Dickman for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
When I would work with preschoolers, I loved to teach them about God’s word. It was really important to me that the kids understood how God loves them, and how he should matter in their lives. I love God, and the things he has done for me, so teaching these kids what he can do for them is really special to me.

I love to serve. I used to volunteer at my previous church, so this one is not really a surprise to me. I think a part of why this is one of my gifts is because I don’t really like to be the center of things, but I like to help people when they need it. I feel like if I can be just a piece to a bigger puzzle, then I can understand better where God wants to use me.

I’m not a big public speaker. But I have seen God move in my own life, so if I get the chance I like to talk to people about him. There is something special about hearing someones experiences with Christ and then wanting to have that impact on someone else. If I can lead someone to Christ through my testimony, I believe it will change me as well as them.
[H]eart
1. I love art. When I get the chance, I love to create pieces that have a deeper meaning than you would originally think.
2. Music is definitely something I love. I am constantly listening to worship music, whether I am in the car, or I’m cleaning my room. I also love to play the same type of music on my guitar.
3. Writing is one of the things people say I am good at. I really enjoy putting my thoughts down on paper either to create something or put a pre-existing piece into something more understandable.
I love to work with kids, particularly preschoolers or young elementary kids.
Children’s ministry is something that is exciting to me, because we get to teach the next generation about God and the reason they (the kids) are on earth. But along with that, I get concerned at the times when there are not enough people to run these programs. I feel like the kids will miss something special if the children’s ministry can’t operate properly.

[A]bilities
I’m looking into the art field. I think I have settled on graphic design so that I can use my skills to help others with their creative needs.
I like to bake and I like music. At one point I looked into both of those as future career paths.
People tell me a lot that I am very creative. I like writing in general, but I like to make a tough subject easier to understand. Additionally, I really like to paint and draw, then put a deeper meaning into those pieces.
I can’t say I have taught a class, but I did once work as a preschool worship leader.
I have a lot of things I could write about, but I think the most valuable one to me is my creativity. I like to find unique solutions to situations and I like to take a vision someone has for something, and put it into reality.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I was very fortunate to have grown up in church. But throughout the years I encountered some major downs from where I had been. Long story short, I started to trust the wrong people and grieve the loss of others. I felt myself drifting from God. However, it was two years to the day after I lost someone special to me, that I felt God pulling me back to him. And truly since we moved a year ago, I have felt him more in my life, than I ever have before.
I volunteered as a preschool worship leader for three or four years at my previous church Center Pointe Christian Church, in Liberty Township Ohio.
My mom would take me to help set up Cinderellas Closet in the spring. We would set out all of the prom dresses the organization would be giving away. I think I helped with this for about five years.
I’m not sure if this counts, but also at Center Pointe, we did movies for the kids at Christmas. I would help to bag and count the popcorn. I did this for two seasons, and I loved it.
I think that moving around my entire life starts this one with a negative, but I promise it gets better. It was because of moving that I found my youth group and the best circle of friends that I have ever been a part of. These friends encourage me and help me grow in my relationship with God.
I was baptized at the age of seven, but even after drifting away from God, I still feel the call to serve him. That call might even be stronger now then it was then.
My family sometimes has theological conversations about modern topics versus the bible. And they really open your eyes to how you should live (by the bible) and how it conflicts the world.
I really enjoy these conversations because I can learn so much about the bible.
Like most people, I have had friends in and out of my life. But it really hurt when I realized that not even your “best friends” are always who they say they are.
One instance, I received an email basically saying how my friend hated me and only became my friend because she didn’t want to seem rude.
Another time a friend just walked out of my life with no explanation as to why, and never said a word to me again.
This led to me having some experiences with trust issues, but I think that because of it I can have sympathy for others going through something similar.
Loss is always something that seems to tear you apart. But I found that while I was grieving a loss, I felt God pulling me back to him.
I think a lot of the time people will tell you that your grief will only last for a little bit, but no, it scars. So I like to help people through loss when I can, and give them hope when they need it.
This might be a bit overused, but growing up in the world today as a christian. That might not be a negative, but it is definitely a challenge.
Trying to live by what God says you ARE versus what the world says you can be is difficult. Christianity is very counter cultural now, whereas it used to be the basis for many cultures. So just trying to live as a Christian in the world we see today.
