S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Laura for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Evangelism (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Getting the good news to those who haven’t heard it keeps me up at night. If I get to be used by God to declare His truth and the reality of our sin and His solution in a meaningful way, there’s not much that tops that in my mind.

#2 Gift, Giving (87%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Being able to financially support others has always been a joy. It’s a thrill to get to funnel God’s money toward opportunities He presents.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (71%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Teaching is tied here – I suppose teaching would be a way to shepherd, and I also would have thought exhortation/encouragement would be in this mix, but maybe those are expressions of my “shepherding”… I don’t know that this gift has ever ranked high for me, so I’m intrigued by the change. I do have a heart to care for the local women in a spiritual sense, so maybe that’s the impetus for this to be in the top three.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Invest in Alex, Levi and Maggie.

2. I love to be in the woods… I can’t say that hiking brings fulfillment in my life, but it certainly brings joy.

3. Making efforts toward getting the good news to the unreached. I’ve enjoyed being a mobilizer, a prayer, a sender and a goer.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Young to middle-aged women who are open and genuine in their relationship and are interested to know the one, true God. Either “not-yet-believers” or new and growing believers.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Believers being in the word and growing in prayer… out of that proceeding evangelism and all the other ministries, but if the word and spirit-filled prayer are not the foundation, then the other activities are empty/hollow.

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

A specific season of sin

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Lead a group of local women in deep, meaningful, consistent study of scripture and prayer

4. Be a support and resource for other believers by way of being “a listening ear” and a “voice of truth/wisdom” when needed both for exhortation and encouragement. A safe place to share your heart, but not to be coddled and just told what you want to hear.

5. Regularly facilitate listening/inner healing prayer sessions for workers and new believers in the region.
