[E]xperience
My sister shared the gospel of Christ with me and I watched how she lived her life.
At Mt Jezreel Baptist Church, Washington, DC I was involved for 5 plus years, I was involved in street ministry to the homeless, bible study, and Co-lead an outreach ministry.
At Chestnut Street Community Church in Roselle, NJ, I was a Bible study leader, on the praise dance team, I was on the Preaching Team and the Director of their Daycare/Elementary School. I was a member for over 15 years.
I currently attend Meadowbrook Church in Ocala, FL where I work in the Guest Experience Department, I manage the schedules for the volunteer teams, I also lead Small Groups. and I am attending SEU to obtain my AA in Ministerial Leadership.
The first thing that comes to mind is when I lived in NJ, the church was going through a change in Pastors, this helped me see that change is necessary and should not be feared. The Teaching Style of the new Pastor helped me see my potential.
Becoming a Daycare Director helped me become more positive about what I can do, this position brought out a lot of creativity and it helped me trust myself when I needed to make tough decisions.
My position as a leader has definitely helped shape me, I had some experiences that I did not handle well, but as a leader, I had a view that most don’t get to see.
My divorce helped Shape me. I learned to rely more on God to get me through the hurt and loneliness I felt.
On a personal note, I have great compassion for women who have been raped and need to deal with the emotional damage done, I have had the opportunity to speak on my experience and it has helped others.
I had a fall out with one of my Leaders and that experience me to understand the importance of work with a team and being respectful of leadership and the load that they carry.
