[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Serving the Lord where ever and in whatever way He sees fit.

2. Study His Word even though I have problem memorizing the scripture as written.

3. Basically stated above – let others see Jesus working in/with me and want the same thing.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

No one particular – I have helped Amy L. with special needs children since Lily Rush was couple years old.
I have helped in VBS for years.
I help minister to the Thomas Wright “homeless church” every Saturday morning – all ages.
And minister to women in my class – ages up to 92.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Unity!
I love serving on the Prayer Team. (another thing my mother taught me – prayer is important) Helping ALM
Otherwise, I am willing to try whatever God puts in my way. I feel He will help me do it or not give it to me.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Was born into a Pentecostal family – baptized at age 6 – then again at 14

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Started at Pleasant Hill Baptist- Austin, when I was about 8yrs old. til about 54 yr. old – 1991.
Teacher in SS and VBS at – mid to late 1950’s-mid 60’s – teacher of my SS class 1988-till left.

Joined BBC in 1992. Been on BBC Prayer Team since around start of 2005 – current.
Coordinator for the Legacy Conference 2008 & 09. (day and half senior gathering for Austin and surrounding area in October)
On the Women’s Ministry from around 2009-2012

Church clerk for 3 yrs – (around 2013-2015 -not sure dates)
Have served on every SS class “office” at one time or other.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

God told me I has missed too much in His church.
I know God sent me to BBC because when I came, even tho I was 55 yrs. old, I was not reading my Bible like I should. My mother had always worked so she did not have time to teach us to “study” the Bible. I joined SS with Jessye Brown as teacher. My life turned around.

Got involve in studying the Bible and after a couple years did my first Bible Study with Don Fehlis – Minor Prophets. Have not stopped yet.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

In my mid life, my husband and I bought lake property and evidently started spending most weekends (except for rain, Christmas and Easter) at the lake. The Lord finally told me I needed to get back in church.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Just to keep serving Him like I do now.

4. I was a “missionary” to Guatamala 5 time and Taiwan 2 time. Because of age can’t go on another long trip.

5. Continuing helping others the way I do now.
