This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been strongly empathic for my entire life, keenly aware of the emotional state of everyone around me. Along with that, I have always felt a strong need to take immediate action to encourage those who are suffering, and/or take up the burden to remedy the problem.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been guilty of most of the sins in the book over the course of my time on the planet. Along with that, I’ve been gifted/cursed with a quasi-eidetic memory, so I can very easily recall the thought processes,shame, and emotional instability that comes with poisoning one’s own life with sin. As such, it’s very easy for me to show mercy to others. I needed to be saved by Jesus Christ at least as much as any man could.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This one is a mystery to me. Aside from playing in an outreach praise band during high school and enjoying it, I’ve never eagerly sought out opportunities to proselytize, nor have I been visibly successful the times that I have tried.

I enjoy working alone, or with a team that is dedicated to a common goal, when there is clear leadership and clear instructions to follow. I’m open to the age and type of people under most circumstances. I do not enjoy working on committees, formed for the purpose of forming sub-committees.

When the call for volunteers was issued, I felt the most moved to address physical plant needs of the ministry center, such as cleaning, small repair, etc. I also am always moved to serve the same needs for elderly people, and others who are unable to, or are too overwhelmed. I find deep personal satisfaction in easing the burdens of others.

Currently, I am an independent landscaper/groundskeeper/handyman.

I have ten years of experience in the hospitality industry, with positions including valet, bell captain, housekeeper, maintenance, reservations operator, clerk, office supervisor, operations manager, and assistant general manager. I have three years in construction, including rough-framing, painting, and flooring installation. I have two years of experience as a professional driver, including airport shuttle and taxi service.

I would describe myself as a polymath.

I have taught many training classes for various aspects of hospitality and customer service operations.

In my opinion, my most valuable personal asset is my philosophy of leadership. I believe that to lead is to serve. I prefer to be the first into the fray, and the last out of the quagmire.

[E]xperience

I have been a Christian since I was a young child. The home I was raised in was no overtly religious; my aunt and uncle were the primary spiritual influence on myself and my family. I gave my heart to Christ at a young age, and as far as the Word of God is concerned, I’ve never had any doubts, and I’ve been blessed to witness more than one miracle in my experience, even though I was not baptized with water until last year.

I have served with my wife in the nursery and pre-kindergarten children’s ministry at the Orchard.

Between 1999 and 2001, I was the lead guitarist for the praise and worship outreach band at Grace Baptist Church, Hesperia, California.

Attending vacation bible school during my early elementary years.

A wholesome childhood in a poor but stable home, with both parents present.

Taking a chance going to a high school youth group as a shy introvert, suddenly being called to serve on the stage, and getting to witness the wonder of God’s movement.

I have been homeless on the street during the winter.

I have recovered from addiction to various drugs and alcohol. When I was a slave to some of them, there were periods of time in which I was guilty of aiding criminal enterprises in facilitating the corruption of others.

I have grieved the suicides of others, and overcame the tendency towards my own.
