S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Becca Bagley for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Traveling (although haven’t been able to much since having a kid). I grew up in a very small town and that was all I knew, which make my worldview very narrow. Then going to college I was given the opportunity to travel the country and to parts of the world and it completely changed me. I understood people and relationships so much better and every time I go somewhere new I am able to get a glimpse of another part of God’s creation and interact with people that I would not have otherwise met

2. Nature/Hiking. Not the hardcore backpacking though, too much logistics and wild animals at night! I love being out on trails, it is when I feel closest to God

3. Interacting authentically with people. I like to label myself as a shy extrovert. It is very hard for me to create new and deep relationships with people but when I do spend time with people and I let myself just be myself it is very energizing. Life as a stay at home mom does not lend itself to that very much and I can feel myself draining when I do not get that people interaction for a long time. However, when it does come around it does bring joy and fulfillment into my life!

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Either people that are a bit farther on in life than me or kids, hard for me to work with same age… but I should probably work on getting over that!

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Mom ministries because I know that can be a hard and lonely job
Sports ministry, cause that was my major!
Giving to those in need and setting up ways to help them learn life skills if needed

*Mark the Top 3 from the list, that Trigger a Passion in You

Poverty/hunger
Financial stewardship
At-risk children

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as my Savior but was a very legalistic child. Wasn’t until a church camp in high school that I realized it was about a relationship with God and not just doing the right things. Then on a missions trip to Nicaragua my worldview shifted and I realized the most important thing in this life is people. Those were the biggest turning points in my life but I am still working on figuring out what God wants me to do day in and day out

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Athletics, gave me an outlet for my extreme competitiveness and wanting to be the best and taught me a lot of life lessons

Missions Trips, completely altered my way of thinking

Having a daughter, expanded my emotional capacity and gave me a heart for kids especially whose lives are broken

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Postpartum Depression, totally sensitive to new moms and seeing if there is anything I can do for them and ask how they are doing emotionally

Growing up in a family that didn’t talk about important things, shaped me to always talk to my husband about everything and want to be open with our daughter
