S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Curtis Becker for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Born in a Christian home (Presbyterian). At age 24 learned what being Christian really meant, and changed churches and direction.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Music Minister/Drama Lead/Deacon – Trinity – 1996 to present. Music Minister, Einseidlerhoff Baptist Church, W Germany, 1981-1985. Part of church choirs in between ’85-’96.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Military service (and relational growth) – ’71-’96: God showed me His path through each new assignment and challenge – none of which I could anticipate. The GREATEST influence in my life was what my wife brought led me to…through her physical pain/trials and her direct witness in helping me grow in Christ.

Govt work ’96 – current. Work led me to His guidance in creating Santa ministry in 2006, and the missions work supported since.

Began working with therapeutic foster children and Hospice in 2005 to present., opening drive to support the needs of children at a crossroad in life, and those in their final stages of life.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My wife’s many challenges in life – chronic pain (military medical malpractice), pain management, hip replacement – and all leading to her early trip Home. (three medical volumes cover everything that she dealt with).

Sudden job shifts (promotions expected but denied). In retrospect, necessary to give me the life experiences to become what He called me to.

My son’s career missteps and marriage issues. Helped me learn compassion and care for the children involved, as well as the physical challenges of the grandchildren and daughter-in-law that shape their lives and my support.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Develop the Santa House Charities to continue to work started with Santas for Christ, and expand the ministry to every state in the United States to meet needs in the poorest county in each state.

4. Ensure all my family are saved, and in whatever capacity (as son, grandchildren, niece, and her children, and brother in law) have secure homes, no debts, and education (if desired) to improve their situation in life.

5. Work within my church to ensure this body of believers has the assets and funds necessary to meet the needs of the local community (specifically, child care facility, trained staff, play ground, and educational wing) to ensure growth and expanded ministry as more families and their children see Trinity as the needed source of nourishment (Christian learning and physical/educational support) their families need.
