My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Born into a Christian church going family. At age 7 while in the car with my mom driving home from school, I had mentioned a friend of mine said she had gotten saved, and I was thinking how I never have done that too. So my mom led me in a prayer of salvation. That was the beginning of my passion to always be involved in with the church and on. I also remember that was the end of having bad dreams too.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Niagara Celebration Church, St Catharines 2003-2008 – Bible college, worship, staff member as church secretary, mass mailings, counting offering, and book store manager.

Missionary in Kenya/Tanzania – Preaching, seminars, speaking at schools and orphanages.

MyChurch Ottawa – Worship, events team with the downtown launch, connect group leader, programming, internship,

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Bible college – World Impact Bible Institute – Where I first learned all about the ministry of grace. Biggest impact of my life.

Going on missions – one of my biggest hearts desire my whole life. However while doing that I was confronted with having to come up with sermons and teaching for several services a week. That was when I really dug into the word for myself and going beyond the surface bible knowledge.

Spiritual experiences – Having dreams and visions, hearing God speak. Especially when I was about 8 years old praying for my dad who randomly had a migraine that was almost debilitating and I prayed a simple prayer and seeing my dad jump up healed. That showed me from a young age that healing is real and prayer works.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Dealing with low self esteem, body image – God saved me from eating disorder, with him literally arresting my heart and him yelling STOP IT! Followed with a gentle, I Love you. Powerful moment that took me by surprise and changed my life. I have been able to share that in a youth setting. And can relate with people who also have bad views of themselves.

Growing up in a mixed law and grace setting. Then in bible school learning fully grace, I can identify what is mixed when I hear or read it. Helps when people come into church and have a mixed background of law and grace too.
