S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Lisa Blomstrom for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I don’t think I ever thought about why I have that gift – I have always had it. Maybe in part because I ate to see suffering and part because I could have used a lot of exhortation and encouragement. And I believe Words of Affirmation are a primary Love Language for me. So, I am very fluent in it :=)
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I think this is a gift that I didn’t realize I had until later in my adult life. I enjoy teaching and I believe that teaching and evangelism kind of go together
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been given a desire to tell others – I believe it is imperative that we tell others about the Gospel – the Good News – not that we just get to pray a prayer and then go on and live our lives – but to share the news of a God who was so passionate about having a relationship with me that he left his place of Heaven and came as a vulnerable human being, and sacrificed himself for me and YOU!
[H]eart
1. Spending time with my children and grandchildren
2. Reading/Studying/Learning
3. This is really a hard exercise – but if I think about joy AND FULFILLMENT – I would have to say serving others in some capacity – usually as an encourager
I loved working with kids – from 4 yrs all the way to 17/18 – I also love working with moms – not exclusively but specifically single moms
An issue that I see is losing the reverence for God’s Word – the Bible has become more like a dictionary – there seems to be no power or change in the people. The people are serving and the programs are great and people feel welcome – but there is no change – there is no fire for the Word of God. We have become so concerned about the program and getting in and out in an hour, than we are with leaving room for the Holy Spirit to move in our midst as we ask him to before and during each service. We are great on being welcoming, weak on discipling and teaching them how to study the Word of God where the actual power and catalyst for change is so that we as a body of believers cannot wait to share God’s Word with those they come in contact with.
One of the things I am most excited about – the fact that the children are hungry for it and that we have a youth pastor who understands that we need to create disciples. That the kids are excited to learn about the Word of God, and that it really does hold relevance and power in our lives. I am excited that I get to be a part of that and that the kids will be the catalyst of change in our church! That is exciting and makes me want to get up on Sundays and go to church.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
I went to church with my grandmother whenever I spent the night with her. Asked Jesus into my heart about a dozen times as a child. Parents never allowed me to be baptized. But I always wanted to be a part of God’s family. I was invited to a non-denominational charismatic “cell group” on October 30, 1984 and encountered Jesus in a way that I knew what I knew that I knew – Jesus was the Son of God – and for whatever reason – He loved me. It took several years of the Lord working with me for me to truly believe that He really did love me and that I was really a part of His family. he wasn’t going to revoke my privileges because I made a mistake.
