This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I grew up with music and theater and have always felt that sharing those gifts with the church (especially with children and youth) is what I was meant to do.

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
My Grandfather was the minister of youth and camping and was very active with youth in his church. I was lucky to grow up in his shadow and learn from him how important working with children/youth is.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Serve the Lord through music!

2. Doing children’s church.

3. Helping with fellowship meals.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Others who like to help. Children and adults.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Financial issues are a concern. I have been happy to see more young children and their families in our church, but feel that we need to work on encouraging them to continue attending. Same with college students.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

Grew up with a grandfather and grandmother who were my Christian mentors. I was baptized when I was young, but really became a Christian at the church camp I attended every Summer, Camp Cowen.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Church camp.

My grandparents were the Christian influence in my childhood and youth.

My mother and father-in-law showed me how to bring people to Christ though the way you live and act.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My mother had depression, but never saw a doctor for help, which was normal for the time period. She had a hard time letting go of past hurts. There were tough times, but she always gave me love and was my biggest cheerleader. As I got older I learned that one has to forgive and move on.

I had a bad job experience with a boss (not physical) and it took me years to forgive the person. Another example of learning to forgive and move on.

Dealing with my mother and step-father who both had dementia and were in a nursing home was, at times, draining. Through this I learned to be more patient and caring. They cared for me, now it was my turn to care for them.

  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Increasing the number of children in our church.

4. Providing music for nursing homes.

5. Going on a mission trip.
