I enjoy working with those who are younger than mean when I’m in a teaching role. I like to share my experiences with them and help them navigate life. [E]xperience

I was 7 years old. We were in the middle of a revival. I had grown up in church and being very involved with anything that was going on at church. One night after the children’s time, I went in to an empty classroom by myself and I prayed to God to forgive me and to make Jesus my lord. That night I felt the call to go forward, before I realized it, I was 10 feet down the aisle. When I realized this I stopped, but my Mom, watching what was going on, asked if I needed to go forward. I never answered her, I just walked forward and made my public profession of faith. I became a Christian that night and I felt a change in my life. Belief in Jesus as my savior was never a problem, but it wasn’t until college that I discovered what it meant to have a personal relationship. I always put God and Jesus on a pedestal. They were on the alter in heaven. God worked through friends and experiences in College and I remember well the night that he spoke to me and made clear to me that he didn’t want to be on a pedestal, but that he wanted to walk with me everyday. He wants to be that friend that we turn to; the father that we can go to with any problem.

Breakaway bible study at Texas A&M. I grew up in a small town Baptist church. This was a new experience and it was very positive!

Developing a personal relationship with Christ. Realizing that he came to earth not only to sacrifice himself for our sins, but to make his relationship with us a personal one.

Having children has completely opened my eyes to the way God views us. Thinking of God as father has been the latest development of my faith.

Before college I had a very specific plan. Once in college that plan completely changed and I didn’t know which way to turn. I felt completely lost and I didn’t know what direction to go. I got to a point where I finally gave up and turned everything over to God. It amazed me to watch the doors start opening the very minute that I did that.

There was a point in business when Holly and I had our business partner leave us unexpectedly and take several agents and 68% of our business with him. We were completely blind-sided and once again, I turned it over to God. To this day I can’t tell you where the money came from to pay our bills. We weren’t taking a salary and the money wasn’t in the accounts, yet every month we had just enough to pay our bills.

The hardest time in our marriage has been dealing with infertility. This was so hard on Holly and I had no possible way of helping her. I wanted to and I tried, but nothing I could say or do fixed her hurt. I truly believe this made us stronger and it let to our adoption story and our first son.

Wrapping It Up
