This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It’s hard for me to say “no” to someone or walk away from someone who is hurting. I naturally give up my own well being to ensure that others are ok.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I love sharing the gospel! Since I can remember I used to listen to sermons and rewrite and re-preach them in my head to a different audience. I feel compelled to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in just about every setting.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
As a kindergartener became curious about what it means to be a Christian. I attended church regularly with my parents and learned a lot about the bible in Sunday School. One night I began to ask my dad all the questions that were looming in my head as a 5 year old. Through that conversation, my dad lead me to Christ that night. Though my faith has been challenged throughout the years, I’ve been blessed to maintain my personal relationship with Christ.
Kings’s Kids Service Coordinator – Church of the King , Mandeville, LA 2017-Present
Camp Counselor- Camp Raybird Ministries, South Bend, Indiana – 2004-2007
Youth Minister – McFarland Baptist Church – 2001-2003
I have been blessed with the opportunity to attend Taylor University, a private Christian University in Northern Indiana. My 4 year experience there helped solidify my faith in Christ. Every experience from ministering to follow college students on Spring Break to hanging out with roommates forced me to analyze my faith and encouraged me to pursue Christ more. I learned to build a support system of believers and maintain an unwavering passion for Christ.
Though I had many opportunities in my past to teach youth, Camp RayBird revealed to me that I had a deep, God-given ability to communicate the gospel in a engaging yet understandable manner. The experience also taught me we deep love and passion I have for the inner-city. It is a community that I grew in. And though I spent much of my high school career trying to set myself up to leave the inner-city, RayBird taught me that I was called to be a beacon of light to that community.
For the last 10 years I’ve spent my career pouring into the lives of at-risk youth. Daily I hear the stories of broken families, generational poverty, social injustices and other issues. It has changed the way that I see the world. It has changed the way I see the work of a missionary. I’ve learned that there are so many people who need to hear and see Christ’s love through me, even while I’m at work. Being an educator has taught me even my job can be worship to God.
Being an adoptive parent has been extremely challenging. My son has reactive attachment disorder, a disorder caused by trauma received during the infant and toddler stage. My son rejects all attempts at having a personal loving relationship like most fathers and sons do. He believes is fear of being hurt or unsafe again is his safety net. At times, he literally rejects small requests such “don’t walk in the street the traffic is really busy”. Many times he believes his way is much better than any suggestion. He repeats bad situations and choice because he doesn’t want to lose control. It reminds me of how much God loves us and he wants to lead, guide and care for us. Yet, we continually run back to sin because it is comfortable and safe. Daily I am reminded of how God sees me. I am reminded of his unconditional love despite our attempt to reject him.
Growing up in poverty was one of the most productive negative experiences for me. In middle school and hight school, I resented the fact that my dad didn’t make more money. I resented that my mom didnt have college degree and chose to raise me and my siblings as a stay at home mom.
However, going through that pain as an adolescent taught me to be grateful the things I did have. It taught me patience. It helped me focus on gaining a great education so that I pursue greater opportunities.
