[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

My life was just not going well and though i tried daily to do right by people, i was still struggling and could not get out of my own way. I was speaking with a friend who is a godly man and he suggested that i try turning my life over to god. After some struggle, learning to speak to the lord regularly, reading/studying the bible, confessing my sins normally and engulfing myself in like minded people… My life started to change for the better and I gained a new outlook on life.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

The Rock is the only place that i have served.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Elan was the friend that helped bring me to the lord, he has been a good friend of mine for a long time and was the best man in our wedding.

Church, listening to ministries and trying to apply those teaching to my life.

Small group; my attendance helps me to grow with like minded people.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Poisonous relationships, i have learned that it can be very difficult for someone going through hard times to talk about things. I have also found that people enjoy talking about themselves. I normally tend to ask people about things that are troubling them, then as we continue to talk we end up opening up to one another and and i can offer council if wanted/needed.

Seeking negative fulfillment or unfulfilling idols. I have in the past poured all of myself into work, tasks etc looking for fulfillment/satisfaction. When in reality only the Lord can provide that for me.

Loosely family, pouring too much of myself into my family’s problems took a very heavy toll on my at one point. I ended up having to eventually tell them that i would always be around and would always be there for them, but there come a point where they need to handle their own struggles.
