We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

Your Primary was ‘The Lion’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I first became a follower my senior year after dating a preacher’s daughter. He spent a lot of time talking to me and answering my questions. I did not truly come to my faith until the fall of 98 when an old friend of my sister’s ran into me. He eventually invited me to meet with him and then our meetings evolved into Bible studies, which eventually grew into a men’s small group. At the same time, my wife, girlfriend at the time, kept challenging me on my beliefs. Between the two, they truly led me to the Lord.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

One Life, Evansville, IN – Pre-K ministry; 4 years
Starting this spring – I will be a part of a teaching team in our middle school ministry.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marrying my wife – she is my best friend and has made me want to pursue Christ more so that I may be a better husband.

The birth of my two boys – they have truly shaped my understanding of what it means to love in a sacrificial manner. Through them, I have learned how selfish I am and have found myself freely, willingly give up my desires so that I may better serve my family.

Moving to Newburgh – This was initially not in our plan, but moving back home has been one of the greatest blessings I have had. I have great friends here that have become more like family and have grown closer to our family here.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Father battling cancer – I watched cancer tear down my father. He was diagnosed during my senior year (tough year) and underwent treatment that summer. I watched a strong man lose all strength. The scariest moment was when he called me to take him to the hospital because I could not breathe after having a negative reaction to the radiation.

My parents – I love both very dearly, but it was not always the best of times. In fact, fighting, slamming doors, and my siblings and myself running to hide were more the norm of my youth. My parents had a very tumultuous relationship that eventually ended shortly after my father beat cancer.

Tearing my hamstring – I had life figured out and track owned most of it. I tore my hamstring my senior year, losing a scholarship and my way of life. I was not the most confident person, but on the track, I was confident. I did not have much control over my life, but I could control what happened on it. It had become my identity and all of a sudden I lost it all. I no longer knew who I was or how to control my life.

Wrapping It Up

Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. I would love to help those in poverty around me repair their homes so that they and their children will never have to worry about it.

4. Use my talents (go Pro in triathlons) to raise money for organizations.

5.
