[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to spend time traveling or just going on weekend adventures with my husband. I brings clarity and understanding into my life.

2. I love doing things with the church that help others. I have found that I have the most joy when I give parts of myself away to benefit others.

3. I love working with and encouraging addicts. I have had a personal struggle with alcoholism and it helps me to share a message of encouragement with those who are still sick and suffering.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I lean toward working with people with addiction issues and emotional issues. I tend to be able to relate the best with people between the ages of 25-40.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was in a Christian rehabilitation program in South Carolina for issues relating to alcohol abuse. I had been in church for several years but I knew that others had something I didn’t. After being there for a couple of months the Holy Spirit began working in my heart and I asked Jesus to save me on July 3, 2012. From then on, I have never questioned my salvation.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Capitol City Baptist Church, Charleston, WV. Sunday School Teacher 9 months

The Gathering Church, Sevierville, TN. Offering Counter. 6 months.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Getting married to my amazing husband.

Getting sober and going to the Haven of Rest

Being the manager of Taylor Books Cafe.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being raised by an emotional abusive mother.

Becoming addicted to alcohol and wrecking my life.

Being raised in a lesbian household in a very small WV town.
