S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Bri Liley for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Teaching (90%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Learning about Christ and scripture and Biblical truths excites me and makes me feel connected to God in a way that little else does. The Bible has not changed since it’s origin, but the way it is shared has. I feel that God sees and uses my passion for knowledge to allow me to teach His word and truths in a way that is genuinely enthusiastic and engaging, especially for those being told that a Godly life is a boring life.

#2 Gift, Evangelism (84%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I just genuinely enjoy talking about God. I love having meaningful and/or intellectual conversations, and I love telling other people about the things that I learn. Because I’m always learning about Him, I get to bring Him up a lot in way that (hopefully) isnt in-your-face, but is just me talking about something I’m interested in. Sometimes this sparks questions or retaliation and then I get even more excited and I suppose after that I’m evangelizing. God just wired me that way, I don’t even realize I do it usually.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has given me 3 younger sisters (basically) to shepherd throughout my life, and through them has taught me the life-changing impacts it has. When I pour into them they feel seen and loved, they are challenged, they have a safe space to ask questions and be vulnerable, and they have a consistent friend and example to follow. Every kid needs this. I have learned so much from shepherding my girls, and my passion now lies in finding even more kids to pour into – kids to walk through life with and to provide with guidance and love and consistency and wisdom, so that they say yes to being used in all of the ways God has planned for them, and so they can then go and pour into other after them.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Learning – asking questions, having conversations that challenge me and my understanding of things, connecting dots, etc

2. Being in nature – hiking, being on water, looking up at the stars, relaxing in the trees, feeling the warmth of the sun, etc

3. Being with people I love and am fully comfortable around – sometimes having deep chats, sometimes playing games, sometimes watching movies, sometimes doing nothing at all. Just being around them is enough.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Ideally, I’d love to work with curious, enthusiastic, and evolving minds.. but not all teens are like that. Regardless, though, they are all reevaluating everything about life and are asking important questions and making important decisions. For whatever reason, maybe because of my draw toward shepherding and natural enthusiasm about life, but all of the changes and challenges and questions and decisions happening that terrified me as teen are incredibly intriguing now, and I want nothing more than to walk through this defining stage of life with them.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

1 – Challenging the spiritually idle, 2 – staying relevant with the real world for teens – being interested and aware of what they’re into shows them you care

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

In middle school I realized that my sin separated me from God, but that a life with God was possible through a relationship with Jesus. During my freshman year of college I realized that my worldly ideas of intelligence, tolerance, and “wokeness” weren’t enlightening, but illogical and harmful and leaving me empty. I already loved Jesus before this, but it was there that I fell in love with Jesus. The difference is insane.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Every age/grade in adventureland (though now I’m consistently with 5th&6th grade), fusion, and crave – all at Metro since 2011ish

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Monday night Bible study/small group/Jesus and chill/group pursuing biblical community/etc

Fusion – my relationships with my leaders and small group and the amount that I was taught and challenged and poured into

Serving/Leading – starting in adventureland as a 7th grader, but then being challenged to step up and take leadership roles in crave, fusion, and adventureland

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Getting caught up in the mindset of pursuing “wokeness” and tolerance and an agenda that I would now characterize as shallow open-mindedness and an intolerance of intolerance

Becoming so intrigued by a person, mentality, mindset, etc that I allowed myself to be completely derailed from my relationship with Christ

Middle school as a whole – the over-dramaticness, depression, self-harm, anxiety – just all of the typical middle school stereotypes

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To work in student ministry (like, professionally)

4. Share His word somewhere culturally rich – India?

5. Whatever He tells me to do, and I’d just say yes
