S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Brita Bishop for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

1. Time with those I love–especially my youngest granddaughter who constantly teaches me the joy and excitement of simple things like bugs, birds and dandelions.
2. Music, especially when played by my oldest granddaughter.
3. Visiting shut-ins–except now. I miss so many people so much.
I used to love working with young children and teenagers, but don’t have the energy for that (one at a time works). Visiting older people.
Good programs for children, especially teenagers. I have seen how important that is along with their parents for my teenage granddaughters.

Nothing that applies to church. I used to teach Sunday School and help with acolytes, but I’ll leave those to younger people.
I’m organized and efficient.
Sunday school ages ago (I don’t think teaching math counts!)

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.
Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
[E]xperience
I don’t remember not being one–but officially became one at age 16 (when I was baptized in the Mennonite Church)
St. John’s: altar guild, greeter, prayer ministry, birthday cards, Steven’s Ministry (when we had that briefly), flowers
Transfiguration: Steven’s Ministry, greeter
St. James: Sunday School Teacher, helped with acolytes, helped with EYC, altar guild
The biggest: whole experience of my husband dying, leaving me with minimum money, need to move & find a job. I felt God was with me the whole time.
Working with children and youth.
Visiting parishioners who are homebound.
Feeling ‘different’ from others–being an immigrant and also belonging to a not-so-common denomination at one time.
Lack of money at times.
Being the only girl I knew who had to start making her own clothing when in 8th grade.
Wrapping It Up
