[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Talk with other believers about theology and doctrine

2. Hear from other believers how God is working in their lives

3. take a chunk of scripture and break it down, line by line and verse by verse

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Adults

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I have a grave concern for lost “church members”. Church people who, like I was, knew the correct answers and bible stories, but it was not real in my life. I am concerned that there are many people who are just like I was, and are on a path of destruction.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Otter’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

As stated before, I was raised in church, knew the truth about Christ but had never truly surrendered my life to Him, I was trusting in something that I did (walk the isle, say a prayer) and wasn’t trusting in His finished work on the Cross and absolutely no repentance. At 23, I had got caught in a “secret sin” and God crushed me under the weight of it, I truly saw my sin as an affront to Him and not just the ones around my, thankfully, being raised in church I know where to turn, on my bedroom floor, I repented of my sins and placed my faith in Christ and His work on the cross for the first time.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Youth Pastor; Emmanuel Baptist Church; Arcadia, La; 2-3 years

Pastor; Oak Hill Baptist Church; 1 year; Bastrop, La

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

When I was a youth pastor, I had a responsibility to teach them truth, therefore I grew leaps and bounds in my understanding of the Christian life

the few semesters of Seminary, I learned and was impacted probably more from the relationships I built, but learned a lot in class too

Having children, I see the importance of teaching the things of God and home, not just teaching them but modeling them for the kids to see

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

divorce, going through my divorce was very painful and disheartening, but, it has been through those times that I have really learned to cling to Christ and Christ alone

pastor, I was a pastor of a hard church. I know that I had downfalls also, but that was probably one of the worst years of my life. I have a heart for pastors who are in the same place that I was. It is a very lonely place

Seminary, my x and I went through some major trials going to seminary with 4 kids, I feel as though I got some bad advice as a young Christian and wish someone would have sat with me and helped me be sure of my calling and discussed some options rather than uprooting the family and moving to NOLA
