S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Cinda Maasdam for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
When I see someone that is discouraged, it brings joy being able to remind them of the blessings of the Lord. A reminder to them that things could always be worse, we need to put things in perspective. It bothers me when I see people hurting, I want to point them to the one who can fix it! I can not, but God can. I love to see people happy, it brings me joy!
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am blown away by Gods mercy upon me! I KNOW that if it was not for His mercy, I would not be where I am today. I know I need to be merciful because HE has forgiven me much!
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I do not feel this is one of my gifts, I do feel when teaching the younger children that I can bring it down to their level, but was surprised to see this.
[H]eart
1. I enjoy giving to someone that is in need.
2. Enjoy nursing homes and visiting hospitals
3. Encouraging others, there is a joy in seeing people happy!! Being thankful for what they have. Seeing the blessings before them. If they are depressed, encourage them to do something for somebody. That always helped me. Too often we can get on a pity party, no time for that!
I enjoy the younger children, defiantly not the teenagers! However, I would like to be involved with extra activities for them. I know that is very important that they have things to be involved in. Just would not want to deal with them on a weekly basis!
I am excited that we have a Pastor and wife who pour themselves into people, that love unconditionally. Our congregation is catching on!

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.
Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
When I was 18 yrs old, we moved from Columbia MO to Chillicothe, my senior year. In Columbia we had not been going to church, ( I did, but it was not UPC) I knew ACTS 2.38 that the Holy Ghost was essential, that it was not a gift. Remember telling that to a friend that was attending the church. However, I had attended the UPC church in Columbia and to be honest made no connection with anyone. I always had a love for God, I remember I was so proud because I had read the Bible through, I would read about every night. Once my family moved to Chillicothe, we started attending the church. I use to think I could not dress, or live like that, I desired it but did not have a dress. However, God provided!!! I was filled with the Holy Ghost and never had a desire for anything else. Found that Jesus was not just some disciplinary God, but HE loved me. When I did not even love myself. It never gets old living for HIM!!
Sunday School Teacher 1995 (?)
Pastor Schmaltz teaching, and preaching. I had not set under a minister who had such a powerful ministry. ( I can not say that now, we are well fed!)
Ladies prayer meetings, we have seen many prayers answered, and the Lord has spoken to us many times. I carried me many times, especially when Carl was so ill, it was “my place”
Pastor and Sister Keck coming to New Life Fellowship. I was to the point I had tied the knot at the end of the rope and could not hold a grip any longer. Was not given up on God, but had on the church. God, being faithful, sent us a dynamic powerful, loving couple who would love people, love the community. Now I know God loves us!
The time when a minister that I had total faith and confidence in came to my home. I was so shocked, so disappointed, such a letdown. I had to forgive him, and I knew I had truly forgiven him when I could shake his hand and tell him it was good to see him at church. I would his soul saved. There is a much bigger picture than my feelings. I want to be forgiving, and I think of the scripture, If I don’t forgive, then I won’t be forgiven.
