S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Carolyn Bullard for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. May God Bless You!

#1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (68%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
From an early age, I was always the one who tried to make everyone feel better. No matter what the situation was, if someone was sad or hurt, I was right by their side, doing whatever I could to try and make their pain go away. This desire just got stronger the older I got.

#2 Gift, Mercy Showing (59%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have been forgiven more times that I think there is a number for. Who am I to judge someone going through a hard time. If I don’t show them Christ’s love, who will? My heart goes out to people hurting as I have seen so much hurt in my lifetime, often to no fault of the person. They are a human and need God’s love and mercy too.

#3 Gift, Serving (56%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I am not one to be in the spotlight. I am totally Type A personality. I would rather be behind the scene getting work done so someone else can have the spotlight. I also love loving on those who might be forgotten – the elderly or those homebound, etc. Making them feel special makes my day.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

2. Doing things that give back to Vets, police, and first responders.

3. Volunteering at Harvester’s.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Children – preteen and the elderly. Love them both with all my heart.

I feel my most valuable personal asset is:

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I became a real Christian after hearing Sheila Walsh speak at a Woman of Faith conference in 1999. She stood on stage and told my life story. After that, we wrote back and forth, she gave me several books and she helped me figure out who God really is. I was rebaptized on October 29, 2000.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

I became a mom.

I began homeschooling my daughter towards the end of first grade.

I met the circle of Christian moms/friends that I have for support, encouragement and friendship.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

I had a daughter born prematurely. She lived only a few minutes before passing away.

I grew up in an abusive home.

I was raped at the age of 16 by a family friend.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Volunteer at City Union Mission & Harvester’s on a weekly basis.

4. Develop a program to help the kids at Hope House to have a game night or a night of fun.

5. Develope a card writing/making program so that every single officer/first responder/fire fighter in the state of MO would get a card that tells them thank you and that we are praying for them.
