I became a christian at 14 years of age. During my adolencent years (before 14), I did not attend church. My consistent involvement within the church and my interactions while learning about the gospel, made me realize that with God, anything is possible. I say improvement within my family dynamics as well as me as an individual.

Seeing young adults my age going to church and praising God on their own will.

Finally getting into the corporate realm!! When I graduated from college, the economy was at a standstill. People were being laid off, jobs opportunity were limited. I told myself that one day I will be an accountant but knew I had to make mjaor sacrifices. So I started from the bottom as a teller and worked dilently on my way to the top. Action of course wasn’t the only driver to my success. I had God on the mainline every step of the way, surrounded myself with like-minded individuals and stood true to my dream. I didn’t bend the rules for any reason.

People gave me the opportunity to evolve through travel, educational resources such as entrepreneurship and giving me positive reinforcements that whatever I put my mind to, I can definitely achieve it; very clique but true.

Volunteering at homeless shelters REALLY humbled me. I used to complain to my mom about sharing a room with my siblings. Going to the shelters and seeing children not having a home made me realized that my complaints to my mother was nothing compared to what I’ve witnessed.

Growing up, my sisters and I were always bullied for the number of children my mothers had, our weight and our appearance. It caused us to have a very low self-esteem with carried on to my adult years. Through self-help and realizing our individual beauty, we now know that God created all his children differently and beauty is internal not external.

Seeing my little brothers being abused. The visuals of seeing a man beat his children was soooooo heartbreaking. From when I witnessed it as a 10-year-old, I vowed to protect my siblings from harm both physically and mentality. I felt it was my duty because I am the oldest. If God blesses me with a child, I will deliver the same protection. No one can break my family!
