Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

25 year drug and alcohol dependent/ gangs violence, single parent household. At the end of my rope, depressed, broken, wanting to die, a disciple from Grace church came to me through a crowd of people at a fair offering me a food voucher at a program called Celebrate Recovery. Gave my life at the alter a week later, and the changes that have happened in my life as well as my families… that’s a story I can tell you better than writing.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Grace United Methodist Church Fort Myers Shores Campus
14006 Matanzas Fort Myers, fl 33905

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

The people I met in recovery, and the time they took to help me to overcome struggles and things that used to hold me down.

Taylor and Taylor, the 2 youth pastors at our Cape campus who took so much time working with me, molding me and teaching me as I volunteered to work with youth. Being true friends to me in a way that I wasn’t used to.

My wife: who never gave up on me stood at my side even when she didn’t have to. Encouraging and loving me, being the “physical rock” in my life.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Drug addiction

Divorce of my parents/ being left to fend for myself/ learn for myself. Absent parents.

Violence and Abuse. I’ve been the perpetrator and the victim, and I’ve seen and lived them both.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. To build a community center to help youth that are otherwise unable to afford to go to places or experience things that others can.

4. Start a program that takes all: nobody gets turned away for recovery. Long term to help the addict that is still suffering learn that their is a way out.

5. A faith based foster home, where the children come first, and placement is done for them that will accommodate them best where children can be safe while learning about how great our God is.. A comfortable temporary home, while awaiting their parents to get their lives in order, or for a loving family to take them in.
