S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Erika Chaves for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. #1 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (65%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
God has redeemed and encouraged me and I desire to share the Hope that is in me. I am bold, independent (don’t seek/need other’s approval), outgoing and joyful. This allows me to get excited and cheer on others in serving God or working well while not being worried about offending others or losing their approval if they don’t like the truth that is spoken in love. I also genuinely love others because of God’s love for them and I value them and want all to know God’s available grace, mercy, and hope!

#2 Gift, Prophecy (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
With a love for history and desire/goal to understand how/why things are the way they are I believe my ability to look back and understand from the past helps me understand truth/cycles better looking towards the future. Additionally, I believe God reveals the nature of man in His word and understanding where a person’s heart is at combined with God’s truths is a strong indicator of where they will go/end up.

#3 Gift, Pastoring/Shepherding (62%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Circling back on genuinely loving others with God’s love, combined with my desire to be welcoming, hospitable and find ways to share God’s love, my personality tends towards shepherding. I also like being a leader and learning how my words, actions, and life can teach others.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Spend time in prayer and worship

2. Fellowship with / lead & encourage other believers

3. Help others through practical action (e.g. watch their kids, make them a meal, volunteer to drive them somewhere, etc.)

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Other believers of any age! Primarily leaders or those who need/want a mentor like figure in their life. I love to work with these two types of people but with different goals as to why/how/when.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Having the word “rightly divided” of solid biblical teaching coupled with a welcoming and relational team/staff/volunteers to create an “Acts” like church excites me the most. A big concern is children’s Sunday school not correctly teaching or equiping children with truth.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.

Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I heard the gospel at a young age and at about 9 years old I knew that I was guilty of being a sinner and wanted to have Christ forgive me and live in my heart. I talked to my mom and chose to pray and follow Christ.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

13 + year Children’s Ministry volunteer/teacher at Mountain Springs Chruch (MSC) and Calvary Worship Center (CWC) in Colorado Springs

10-year admin volunteer and 2 year Secretary at MSC

6+ year Young adults group leader and 2 year Life group leader at CWC

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

My mom faithful serving God and choosing to sacrifice a lot to teach her children about God, His absolute truth and the life that she lived that boldly and consistently and practically showed us who Christ was and how to serve others.

God opening up a job for me and equipping me to perform well in politics – A role that I only dreamed of having because I was a high school drop-out.

Attending Fusion under the leadership and teaching of Isam. His clarity in teaching God’s word, challenge to apply it to our lives everyday in practical ways and call to live life with others in a way that honor’s God and honors others has been one of the most impactfully “church” experiences I’ve ever had up to this point. Coupled with the fellowship and friends that developed from the group.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Being a high school drop out and not knowing for several years how to find helpful resources or know how to talk to people about this and ask for help to continue my education.

Growing up with the perception of a “modal family” but knowing that was not really the case. Then desiring to grow & change in Christ and live life differently in some areas than the way I was raised but not wanting to dishonor or disrespect my parents in the process.

Dealing with a lot of family death as a young child.
