[E]xperience

International Christian Fellowship, Beltsville MD. It was a small church and I took on many roles serving as a worship leader, young ladies ministry leader, youth leader (organizing retreats and outreaches), Sunday school teacher and vacation bible school leader. We’ve moved to zoom sessions since the pandemic, and I still lead worship sometimes.

My parents, they are both very kind, humble and self less. They have had a big impact in shaping my values and moral compass.

Growing up and living in three countries, I was exposed to both underdeveloped and developed countries, inequalities etc and that drove my passion to want to work in this field and impact government/justice.

My spiritual mentors at different stages since I got baptized in 2016. I have learnt so much from them about a relationship with God, ministry, family and they’ve really influenced my spiritual growth.

I went through a terrible breakup in 2016, where my ex ended up having child with someone. But it’ was really wonderful because it forced me to cling tightly to God, and I experienced Him in a way like never before. As a close friend, a dear Father, a healer, and He also totally changed my standards/expectations for marriage. Now I have very high standards and I have great compassion for young ladies who are caught up in bad relationships or just wasting their purpose/mission by being stuck in the wrong relationships.

I went through a tough time losing three close friends in 2016-2017. It was really tough for me, but the beauty that came from it is I’ve grown more dependent in God as my closest friend. I no longer rely on people as much, or find my identity in relationships. I’ve also been able to surrender broken/hurt relationships to God completely trusting that He will bring the healing in those relationships at His time.

I think being from a very goal oriented family/culture made me believe that my worth was tied to my performance/achievements growing up. I’ve learnt and I’m still learning that my value to God and worth as a human being has nothing to do with that. So I love to encourage people that I see that are stuck in performance driven mode, I’ve also been learning to rest and let God guide my course in life. It’s also helped me to have more grace towards my Dad who tends to me more goal driven.

3. I would love to have a part in seeing corruption eradicated from my region/my country. To see more development and access to health/education my the less privileged so that they can be empowered to fulfill their God given purposes.
