S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results

Thank you Cindy Harrison for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. [H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Love my Lord by spending time with Him, thanking, praising, learning more about Him, His truths, and ways, and serving Him, as He leads each day, especially through writing truths about Him and His Word.

2. Love my family and the people He has brought into my life in all the ways the Lord shows me to: spending quality time with them, praying for them, ministering with and to them.

3. Living as abundantly as possible on this earth, enjoying the good things on it like reading, walking, and riding bikes in the beauty of nature. When well, playing tennis.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with all God’s people and those who don’t know Him regardless of their age. I’ve never had a favorite and He has allowed me to work and teach all ages through the years.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

Besides the need and opportunity to share the Lord through English as a Second Language, Adult Literacy, and Tutoring Children and Youth Ministry, I’ve been praying about Senior Adult Ministry that would focus on Senior Adults growing in their discipleship through regular fellowship, devotions, and prayer for one another.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Retriever’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

There has never been a time when I didn’t love or know Jesus. When I was 10 years old, I was hanging around some rougher kids and as I began to talk and act like them in my language and actions. I was so convicted of how I was displeasing God. I felt so guilty that I understood that I needed Jesus to forgive me for my sins. As my pastor preached a sermon on Jesus dying on the cross to give me the gift of salvation from my sins and eternal life, I asked Him to forgive me and accepted His gift of salvation.

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Marrying my husband, James, who has lived out a life of Christlikeness to be emulated.

Having and home schooling our three children, which God used to disciple me and teach me the value of being obedient to His grace and relying upon Him for everything, great and small!

Praying for a pony and horse everyday for years, as well as for people’s needs, and in His answering, learning about Him and the power of prayer.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Missing so many days one year in school, due to sickness, that I had to be tutored one summer. My tutor, who was also my Sunday School teacher, inspired a love and a knowledge of the importance of teaching those in need and struggling.

Walking with my Mom, Dad, and James’ grandmother through cancer, experiencing God’s presence and comfort, as well as things learned during and after it.

Living with head trauma, prolapsed mistrial valve problems, and other physical illnesses that God used to bring me to know Him better, pray more faithfully, and minister to others who are hurting.
