This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I’m not really too sure that this should be my highest score BUT going back would skew the data so here goes!
I don’t have a very large pool of experience to draw from with speaking about my faith especially to non-believers BUT, I can say that I had a guy at my workplace notice changes in behavior after I accepted Christ. His curiosity about my changes lead him to conversation with me about The Good News – after that (and with Pam’s help) he’s come to church significantly more often and has notably changed some behaviors!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
Teaching makes a little more sense to me because of my work backgroun. In the Marines, the main part of my job was to present information to higher ranks in order to assist in decision-making. I also taught young Marines some facets of aviation intelligence when called to do so.
I have no issues standing and presenting a topic (with preparation of course), and would love to do so with Scripture some day!

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
This is probably the oddest one for me, and would probably require speaking with other people to determine it’s veracity! I can empathize and recognize when peoples’ behavior seems off, and they need encouragement. I have a much harder time actively approaching them!

I am currently an office clerk. I input handwritten invoices into invoicing software, send out estimates, prepare repair orders, run receipts, and file paperwork. Additionally, I pick up and deliver parts from vendors to mobile technicians on the road.

Previously I was an Intelligence Specialist and Weapons & Tactics Instructor in the Marines. This job consisted of the collection, preparation, and presentation of classified information to Commanders so they could make fully-informed decisions. Additionally, I was trained to analyze and foreign countries’ air defenses and present options to pilots/air crew.

I feel I have a knack for analysis, especially when it comes to reading and even more so with scripture. I am interested not just in what the Word says but how it says it, the context of it, the background, the direct who, what, when, where and why of what I’ve read.

I’ve only ever taught classes on threat air defenses, the functions of aviation assets regarding the Marine Corps, and given country briefs on different nations we were preparing to make port in.

My hard-learned ability to listen and understand people, not just hear.

I made the decision to follow Christ after my wife and I split for a second time, after I came back to Washington when my active service with the Marines was concluded. We had split and lived apart for about two years before reconnecting and attempting to live together again. After about three months, it was clear the relationship was not salvageable and the ways both of us had lived apart were no longer reconcilable. As I started to drift back into alcohol and smoking, I met with Troy at the urging of Michelle and Pam. After meeting with him for a few weeks, I made the decision to follow Christ and never turning back.

The birth of my daughter brought about an entirely new sense of purpose and responsibility.

Enlisting in the Marine Corps took me around the world and taught me work ethic, analysis, and presentation skills.

Going to Christian schools, as much as I professed not to be a Christian, I believe instilled many Christian values that kept me from making several stupid decisions in recent years.

As my divorce process wraps up I am saddened that my marriage ultimately ended up in this state, and how that will affect my daughter. However, God uses all things, even the natural consequences of our sin for a greater purpose and I am passionate about sharing that fact.

Young fatherhood/relationships. In a society that puts sexual relation on a pedestal, especially for young men, I am determined to factually show what happens if you build a relationship, a family, or fatherhood on the wrong precepts.

Drug abuse. My mother and my stepfather never were the example of what marriage or relationships look like, namely due to drug habits. I even saw this in the Marine Corps with steroid abuse amongst my friends and co-workers.
