God’s word gives us insight into how we are made and His plan for us. There’s a lot to learn and apply on our spiritual journeys.

[H]eart

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love sharing my hobbies with others that I’m close with (sports, video games, music, tv, etc.)

2. Seeing spiritual growth in my life and in the community I’m engaged with.

3. Putting in hard work and seeing the results and end goals realized.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

I love to work with people around the same age and who both share interests yet have differing perspectives. Knowing where we stand with each other allows for acceptance and deeper relationships

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I’m not wired for childcare work. I love my kids and can be around kids and help out, but it is stressful and is one of the things that I think I would be the worst at.

Your Primary was ‘The Beaver’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.

Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

When I was 8 or 9 after hearing weekly sermons and invitation times at church, I felt God tugging at me to listen and to follow him. I talked with my mom about salvation and met with the pastor and accepted Christ then after he explained how grace worked in a way that I could understand and relate to.

Spiritual growth and major next steps happened as a teenager when I got plugged into youth group and understood more about how to learn and grown in my spiritual journey.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

I have and continue to serve as the leader of the “Morris” community group at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, MO. I have been in this role for several years

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Meeting my wife during college

Leaving and returning to Voltage (my employer)

How I was raised by my parents and the standards for behavior, academics, church, etc.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My time and learnings while trying to make success out of a challenging situation at a previous employer. I learned that working harder wasn’t the answer and that the will to want something to work out is not always enough.

My parent’s health issues during the mid 2000’s and teaching that I have to be an adult and face real life challenges. Things aren’t always going to be calm and the status quo.

Getting out of shape and fighting battles with healthy habits.

Wrapping It Up

The Challenge: Based upon your S.H.A.P.E. Assessment above (the way God wired you), If you knew you couldn’t fail … and ‘lack of money, or time’ was not an obstacle… list your Top 3 Things you would ‘Focus’ your Life on, next to #1 Loving God & #2 Loving Your Neighbor (these would be your ‘3 God-Sized Dreams’ for your life)?

1. My Relationship with GOD

2. My Relationship with Others

  • Putting Your Spouse First
  • Your Kids Second
  • Everyone Else After those

3. Help other believers on their spiritual growth

4. See more people come to faith in Christ

5. See and make change in the US turning it toward God
