S.H.A.P.E. Assessment Results
Thank you Jacki Corona for taking the SHAPE Assessment. We encourage you to meet with a Church Leader that you respect, to go over your results, so that they can help you discover a place to serve in the church and/or community, and also to help you fine-tune your 5 Main Focuses/Priorities listed at the bottom of this email under the ‘Wrapping it up’ section. This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I have spent a great deal of my life caring for others, children, neighbors, aging relatives, then working for 24 years in schools. I remember being very sensitive as a child, to hurt feelings, and not wanting anyone else to feel what I experienced. I also realize that it doesn’t take much effort on my part to make a difference in someone else’s life. It could be as simple as a smile that brightens someone’s day, or just looking them in the eye, validating their worth as a human being. I enjoy sharing God’s love with others, because He has been so good to me.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
I believe that everything we have comes from God and therefore belongs to God. Therefore it is not mine to hold onto, but to share with others, so they may receive a blessing. We have been so richly blessed, that we want to pass that along to those in need. Also, God has laid on our hearts at times, a burden to help someone who expressed a need, and allow God to bless them through us.
This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
After taking a class and being part of a group of Christians that was trained to witness through Evangelism Explosion, I saw first hand how to effectively share the Gospel in many different situations. However, I feel more comfortable about sharing Christ after establishing a friendship or relationship with a person, and taking opportunities God gives to share what Christ did on the cross for me and how He changed my life.
[H]eart
1. Spending time with people, loving on them, spoiling them, helping them, feeding them, being a shoulder to cry on, or someone to laugh with.
2. Meeting new people and investing time in their lives.
3. Worshiping God through music, whether it be through listening to inspiration music, or participating in choir or group singing.
I enjoy all people, not necessarily one type or another. I love children, older folks, and those in between. When Carey and I were involved in prison ministry, I was very comfortable ministering to the male prison population with him. I also enjoy women’s ministry. We have worked with teens, but would feel more effective providing treats for youth group or sponsoring them for missions trips at this point in my life.
Caring for those who feel forgotten is a privilege and a blessing for me. Helping someone who needs a hand with transportation, or food or taking care of their family gives me joy. Encouraging someone who is going through a rough time is important to me.

Your Primary was ‘The Otter’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Lion’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God
Otter- Otters are very social creature. Otter personalities love people. They enjoys being popular and influencing and motivating others. Otter can sometimes be hurt when people do not like them. Otter personalities usually have lots of friends, but not deep relationships. They love to goof-off. (They are notorious for messy rooms.) Otters like to hurry and finish jobs. (Jobs are not often done well.) The otter personality is like Tigger in Winnie The Pooh.
Strength: People person, open, positive
Weakness: Talks too much, too permissive
Limitation: Remembering past commitments, follow through with discipline
Lion- This personality likes to lead. The lion is good at making decisions and is very goal-oriented. They enjoy challenges, difficult assignments, and opportunity for advancement. Because lions are thinking of the goal, they can step on people to reach it. Lions can be very aggressive and competitive. Lions must learn not to be too bossy or to take charge in other’s affairs.
Strength: Goal-oriented, strong, direct
Weakness: Argumentative, too dictatorial
Limitation: Doesn’t understand that directness can hurt others, hard time expressing grace
[E]xperience
When I was 7 years old I accepted Christ as my personal Savior during the invitation at our church and was baptized shortly after.
No formal ministry experience.
Hearing a couple in our church that started a prison ministry talk about what God was doing in prisons prompted Carey and I to get involved. We were involved in going in to prisons to help minister to men incarcerated and it was us who were ministered to by them. We have met some of the most committed Christian men who shared with others how Christ saved them and completely changed their lives. We have seen first hand how God worked miracles in their families after they came to know Him and we have seen them serving the Lord after their release. These men have deeply impacted my life because of their faithfulness and thankfulness to God. That has made me much more appreciative of my own salvation.
My parents were raised attending church but were not saved until I was about 6 years old. They lived life from that point on serving God every day in every way they could. They were loving and cared deeply about everyone they met, and opened their hearts and home to anyone. They prayed for others, studied God’s Word, were faithful members of The Gideon’s International organization that distributes Bibles all over the world. Their example has made a huge impact on my life and the lives of many others in our family and the surrounding community we lived in.
I have been very blessed to have friendships with great Christian people who love God with all their heart. I have witnessed many times the results of lives changed by the power of God and how their service to Him and their testimonies have inspired and encouraged others to accept Him and live for him.
I have experienced 2 tragic church splits that have rocked the very foundation of the faith of church members including myself in the first instance. What I learned from those experiences was that my foundation needs to be in Christ, not a church. If that is the case, my foundation will stand firm and God is glorified, in spite of the behavior of men.
My oldest sister committed suicide when she was 21. That experience taught me compassion for others because it happened in my family and I know how it hurts.
Finding out you are pregnant at 16 could be considered a negative experience, but God has been there for us every step of the way. We never regretted for a moment getting married and having our baby. Our hearts are so blessed to see young ladies who become single mommies, who choose to have their babies. We know what a struggle it is and are so proud of them for standing against abortion.
