[E]xperience

Many years ago I was lost and carry an emptiness in my heart , one night I got drunk and challenge the Lord. I never prayed nor went to church but I knew there was a God, because my parents told me. That night, I came home all drunk dropped on my knees and I told the Lord that if he did not do anything for me I was going to commit suicide. well that night I slept like a baby , it was a Saturday night. The next morning I woke up no hangover or anything, it actually felt weird. the room was real bright a sense of peace was in the room. On Sunday morning I received a phone call from my girlfriend (my wife today) asking me if I would take her to church and she asked if I could take her friends brother as well, at that moment I screamed at her what the hell do you think I am a taxi service. Well the Lord was in that room, as I slammed the phone down, I felt a sense of anguish and I heard a voice that said, Son what about if that soul gets lost. I felt anguish and sadness like something had soften my heart. I picked up the phone and I called my girlfriend back and I told her… hey tell Sammy that I’ll pick him up for church. I never mentioned to her what had happened in the room. As I was getting ready to pick them up to take them to church I felt peace, joy, tranquility, I didn’t recognized it but it was the peace of the Lord in my heart. I proceeded to go and pick them up for Church, when Sammy got in the Car I asked how he was doing he said Ok, but I knew it wasn’t true, you see Sammy suffered from AIDS. I started playing a Christian Salsa cassette tape a Christian friend of mine had given me, I asked him, hey Sammy how do you like this Salsa music, he said men Chris that’s awesome. We arrive at the Church parking lot and to the left I noticed an empty parking spot, but since I wasn’t going to church ( I thought ) I ignored it. As everyone was getting out of the car I proceeded to do the same and said quietly to myself where the hell are you going? you know you don’t go to that Church or any Church for that matter. You see, I always judge everyone as they went in to Church every week when I dropped off my girlfriend because I knew some of the people and their past. As I am getting back into my car Sammy asked, What, are you staying ? I replied, no, no bro I don’t come to this Church I am not coming. I then proceeded to put my car in reverse and go about my day, so I thought, at that moment the voice of the Lord told me, YOU ARE GOING TO CHURCH…I looked all over inside the car and no-one was in there with me, I shook my head and ignored it and I said I am not going anywhere I tried to proceed and again THE VOICE SAID TO ME YOU ARE GOING TO CHURCH AND I repeated by saying I am not going anywhere, when I said that the area where I was at went into a pit like, I could see everything like if I had sunk into a hole in the parking lot, I looked up and I could see all the cars above me I then I knew something from above was talking to me (the Lord) at this point I was choked up and I was a valley of tears, again the Lord spoke to me but this time with a stronger tone in his voice as he grabbed me by my heart.. I could literally see my heart being pulled from my chest 3 to 4 inches as he spoke this words.. YOU ARE GOING TO CHURCH. At that point I surrendered to the Lord and everything came back to normal. I was in a panic mode, I kept saying I have to call my Dad, I have to call my Dad, I am going crazy. I then drove to the nearest pay phone, but I didn’t have a quarter for the pay phone. I remembered loosing one between the car seats weeks earlier by faith I opened the car door and there lay the quarter next to a Parker ball point pen I had accused someone of stealing it. I called to my Dad, I was in such paranoid state, crying and breathless, he asked me, What’s wrong with you son, I said to him something keeps telling me to go to that Church, my Dad replied, maybe the Lord has something for you to do there, listen to his voice. I said to him Dad you know I am Catholic, there was a moment of silent and my Dad replied you are nothing. I again pleaded with my Dad and said to him, Dad you know I am Catholic again my Dad responded you are nothing. My Dad continue to tell me, The House of the Lord has no name he will open doors where he needs you. God has something for you there listen to his calling. I proceeded and obey what my father had instructed, although I couldn’t believe my ears because my father was devoted Catholic. I returned to the Church and found the same parking space was still empty and available , it was meant for me . I parked got out of my car and walked into Church and it felt like I had been attending there forever. In the weeks that follow I discovered what it was to live with peace of the Lord, I was honored with the gift of discernment. I continue to attend the Church where I was trained to serve as a Royal Ranger which is a Christian Scouting program where many young lives gave their hearts to Jesus Christ as he used me as vessel for his honor and glory. Praise be to God. That’s how I gave my heart to Christ and became a Christian.

I serve for 3 to 4 years as a Royal Ranger Commander. Royal Rangers was a Assemblies of God outreach ministries for young boys.

Also Many years ago I took self study course in Christian Financial Concepts where I was awarded Counselor Certificate. I have not practice in this area for years as well.

Recognizing that there is God that loves us and forgives us. That he died for our sins.

I had removed God from my heart and replaced him with the easy life. My life was heading for total destruction.

Drinking my life away to try to cover the emptiness that I felt in my heart.
