Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. I love to discover and facilitate the ABUNDANT gifts Christ has given to each follower and church in the broader work of the Kingdom across the city.

2. I invest myself fully in the works of compassion, mercy and justice–with the broader work of justice and equity becoming increasingly a part of my calling as the Church reckons with these deeper issues in terms of both conviction with regard to Biblical principles of justice and greater impact of the vast amounts of outreach we do–many times without attention to the deeper issues and systems to create the need for our work.

3. Bring a great sense of unity among the body of Christ for a stronger witness and for greater impact.

While I love work “on the ground,” I have found my greatest effectiveness and deepest fulfillment in working with leaders and empowering them to do the Kingdom work to which they have been called.

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

I was raised in a Christian home and came to faith at an early age. I received a call to ministry in junior high school at youth camp. But it wasn’t until my mid-30’s when I had “come to the end” of my own abilities and drive that I fully surrendered to Christ. I am still learning how to do that on a daily basis!

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Stepping into my own giftedness and calling.

Learning (and still learning!) about the experiences of marginalized friends and people groups and the Church’s role in addressing injustice.

Becoming a dad–and all the character development that brings!!

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

Getting let go as worship pastor from a church I helped to plant; hitting absolute rock bottom broke me in a way that increased my dependence on God and empathy for others.

Living through some unhealthy leadership practices and structures and coming to terms with my own darkness and struggles…which increased my commitment to leading a team that is healthy and clear on their own sense of mission and calling.

Getting called out for my white privilege….and the grace and commitment of close friends to help me reckon with it!
