#1 Gift, Evangelism (100%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
For me personally, there is no experience as powerful and profound as salvation through the grace of God. Being taken from a state of hopelessness, burdened with sin and the struggles and influences of the world, to being set free, filled with joy and purpose and enveloped in God’s love. I feel that once you experience that, you not only want to share your experience through your testimony, but you also want people to know that this wonderful relationship, only available through Christ, is there, waiting for them, and calling to them. You can not help but want that for everyone. When you see people turn to the Lord…it’s beautiful thing. It fills you with a sense of joy and relief that there is another soul saved and another who will dwell in God’s kingdom forever.

#2 Gift, Exhortation/Encouragement (93%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
It’s easy to become discouraged, unmotivated, or stuck in a rut. The Bible instructs us to encourage others daily. It’s amazing how much of a positive impact can be had by one person coming alongside of another to lift them up. I’ve been thought a LOT of struggles in life. People being there for me had made all the difference in being able to carry on and move forward.

#3 Gift, Mercy Showing (78%)

This gift’s evident in my life in the following ways:
We are all sinners and deserving of God’s wrath. All who have accepted Christ, who paid a debt He did not owe to relieve us of a debt we could not pay, have been shown Mercy. Who are we not to extend that to others? While I think punishment is often deserved, and even beneficial in this life, it is our duty to extend kindness, understanding, and forgiveness, as it had been extended to us as much as possible.

Three things I love to do that bring joy and fulfillment in my life:

1. Focusing on my relationship with Christ, and making prayer a constant throughout the day.

2. Spending time with my family. I feel the family is being weakened by our deteriorating society. I hoping to build a close-knit, Christian family on a solid foundation that will be carried on to generations to come.

3. Camping and vacationing. I love to just get away and take time to enjoy the peace and serenity and be thankful for all of the blessings God has given me.

Who I love to work with most, and the age or type of people:

Those struggling who are in need of comfort and youth.

Church issues, ministries, or possible needs that excite or concern me the most:

I am concerned with the push to make everything in our society “acceptable”, especially when I see God’s word pushed aside or altered to make room for the sinful nature of man. I understand that we are all sinners who carry various burdens and shortcomings, but it is better to accept that fact as opposed to change what we would claim God wants and expects for us as far as what’s in our hearts, on our minds, and what we allow into our lives. Like homosexuality, for example. I have gay friends, I love them dearly, I’d encourage them to go to church hoping God would make changes in their heart and lifestyle, but at no point would I ever accept homosexuality as “ok”. I see Churches shunning these people, which I feel is wrong…as those deepest in sin are those most in need of Jesus. I also see churches taking the “we’ll say it’s ok just because society says it is” stance. I even see gay pride flags hanging in front of churches. It is our job to love ALL, refuse none, but ALWAYS keep our beliefs (even where our own sins lie) in line with God’s word.

Your Primary was ‘The Retriever’, with your Secondary coming in as ‘The Beaver’, and here are the descriptions of your Personalities, and how they can be used for God

Golden Retriever- Good at making friends. Very loyal. Retriever personalities do not like big changes. They look for security. Can be very sensitive. Very caring. Has deep relationships, but usually only a couple of close friends. Wants to be loved by everyone. Looks for appreciation. Works best in a limited situation with a steady work pattern.

Strength: Accommodating, calm, affirming
Weakness: Indecisive, indifferent, unable to express emotional, too soft on other people
Limitation: Seeing the need to be more assertive, holding others accountable

Beaver- Organized. Beavers think that there is a right way to do everything and they want to do it exactly that way. Beaver personalities are very creative. They desire to solve everything. Desire to take their time and do it right. Beavers do not like sudden changes. They need reassurance.

Strength: High standards, order, respect
Weakness: Unrealistic expectations of self & others, too perfect.
Limitation: Seeing the optimistic side of things, expressing flexibility

[E]xperience

My brief testimony of how I became a Christian

It was about a year after my divorce. I was a single-father. I had pulled y life back together but was very empty and suffering from depression. One night, I had a very vivid dream (which I thought was reality) in which I woke up to find that I had passed and was being committed to my punishment in the hereafter, and all pleas to do whatever I could to change my situation were denied as “the time for making those decisions has passed, and that was my fate”. After I woke up, I didn’t really think about being relieved at that just being a dream (although it was much more…) but I focused more on the fact that this would eventually become reality unless I received forgiveness and accepted Christ as my Savior. I prayed continuously, not for myself but for the child I used to be who loved Jesus deeply as well as for the future of my children who would likely be influenced by my life. Weeks went by during which I prayed and pleaded to God for intervention and direction, and I was in a state of total desperation, truly feeling hopeless and my prayers not even being heard let alone answered. One night, I felt, what is hard to describe, but as it time stopped, almost a sense of vertigo, the hairs on my arms stood up, and I was filled with simultaneous fear and comfort. As I continued to pray and voice to God all of my questions and concerns, it was if the answers were placed on my heart as fast as they came to my mind. No matter how far I had strayed, God had never left my side. I accepted Christ as my Savior but knew that it would be a lifelong struggle to put aside the influences of the world but I must and would. That was in October of 2010.

Ministry Experience (Where I have served in the past, if applicable, including ChurchName, City/State, Position, Years Involved):

Abbe Road Baptist, Elyria, Ohio. Youth Ministry Leader (AWANA) T.N.T. (Truth In Training) boys 4th- 6th grade. 2014-2016

List 3 Positive experiences from the past that made a big impact on who you are today:

Parenting.

Volunteer work.

Helping friends and neighbors in crisis or emotional need.

List 3 Negative Experiences from your past that have helped to Shape me, but also have given you great compassion for others going through similar circumstances:

My ex wife was bi-polar and a hoarder who abused prescription drugs and alcohol to “cope” which, in reality, made things much, much worse. Put our family through hell for years.

Family tragedy. The death of my parents from stroke and Alzheimer’s a few years ago. My sister, had a pain-killer addiction and eventually committed suicide a couple of years ago. My brother was on the receiving end on an emotionally abusive relationship with his wife, who committed herself to trying to push him over the edge. Last year, he finally snapped and murdered her.

Church hypocrisy that eventually alienated my wife any myself from the church we attended and served in for many years.
